Amuri Greene, who is currently hospitalized, will face two counts of attempted murder in connection with the death of a 7-month-old girl who was fatally shot in Brooklyn on Wednesday, the NYPD said.
Police said the baby, Kaori Patterson-Moore, was sitting in her stroller near Humboldt and Moore streets in Williamsburg Wednesday afternoon when a suspect sitting on the back of a moped nearby fired two rounds.
Patterson-Moore was struck by the gunfire and pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, the NYPD said.
After the shooting, the moped driver and passenger sped off and were eventually both flung off the vehicle when it crashed, according to police.
The driver fled the scene, while the passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
Authorities said Patterson-Moore was not the intended target, and added that the shooting was believed to be gang-related.
