Timothy Wiechert, 48.

"Daniel Niles, 61, was found dead in a shopping cart outside of FoodMaxx on March 12. Police said Niles was found wrapped in a large sheet of white plastic in a shopping cart.[March 15th, 2023]

"Ramsey identified the suspect as 48-year-old Timothy Wiechert of Chico, who is also facing an attempted murder charge.

"A woman reported she came home to a truck parked in her driveway and a man, later identified as Wiechert, had the woman to the ground and was strangling her."

"After his arrest, officers learned the truck parked in the driveway was registered to Niles, Ramsey said. Officers then searched the camper shell and found a “good deal of blood.”

The truck was taken in for forensic processing. A dog, Tank, was found in the truck and belonged to Niles, according to Ramsey.

Surveillance video shows the suspect rolling the cart with the white tarp inside the FoodMaxx at about 6:20 a.m. on Friday, March 10. Tank could also be seen in the video following the shopping cart.

"Later that morning, the video showed a store employee roll the cart out the FoodMaxx where it was left just feet from the front entrance, according to Ramsey.

Ramsey said the shopping cart was left undisturbed for two days and was only moved once to clear the way for a wheel-chair bound customer.

The shopping cart was rolled to an area near the bathrooms and abandoned, according to Ramsey. Tank followed the suspect out of the store."

Fucking Tank.
Couldn't find a picture of him. Tank, the Fairweather Dog. He's not supposed to go home with the killer.

"Tank was picked up from the pound by Niles’ son."

The trial has already started

So a store employee just rolled this cart, full of god-knows-what, outside and just left it there still full and didn't even check to see what was in it? Yep pretty sure they were millennials. A boomer would have went thru it hoping to find something useful.

It's astounding that no one looked! Not employees, not shoppers, not the homeless that frequent the place?

The employees and homeless of America are showing a poor work ethic.

must be a ruff area or the employee is young, overworked or just didn't care.

It's the death of curiosity.
We see it demonstrated over and over.

Man-on-the-street interviews where people can't name their own state capitol.
Shockingly ill-informed voters.
The anti-globalism and anti-intellectual/education groundswell.
I hardly see kids outside exploring or making up new games to play in the neighborhood anymore.

People aren't even curious about themselves, let alone what large object is starting to smell right next to them.

P.S. It took place in medium-sized college town in rural northern California.
