At least 80 freeway shootings reported since late April, CHP says

A CHP spokesperson confirmed the boy's death at a news conference. The child's identity was not disclosed.

The fatal incident, described by the CHP as an isolated road-rage confrontation, occurred near West Chapman Avenue between 7:55 a.m. and 8:15 a.m.

At the time of the shooting, the victim was sitting in the back seat of a silver Chevrolet sedan as his mother was driving northbound on the 55, said CHP Officer Florentino Olivera.

The shooter, who remained at large, was said to be driving a white sedan. A description of the suspect was not immediately available.

Speaking to reporters on an empty on-ramp, Olivera issued a plea for witnesses to come forward with any information they may have.

"If your vehicle has a dashcam, we're asking you, please provide that video," he said. "If you were driving by, you saw something that was not right, call it in -- even if it wasn't something major."

Tips may be provided by calling the CHP's Santa Ana office at (714) 567-6000.

A six-year-old boy was tragically shot and killed in a suspected road rage attack after his mother gave another driver the finger.

Aiden Leos was being driven to school by his mother at around 8.10am on Friday morning.

The pair were travelling down Route 55 in Orange, south east of Los Angeles, when a car supposedly cut her up.

Aiden's mother gave the driver the finger in her rear view mirror, but as she moved over towards another lane to her right, a gunman - thought to have been sitting in the passenger seat of the suspect's car - suddenly fired into their car, striking the boy in the back.

Heartbreakingly, Aiden's final words were 'Mummy, my tummy hurts."

After pulling the car over, Aiden's mother rushed to hisside, cradling him in her arms.

An off duty police officer stopped and performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

But sadly, Aiden passed away a short time later.

It would be pointless for me to flip anyone off while driving, because my windows are dark, and you literally can't see in at all possibly due to the interior being black. That's on AXE, btw. She's the one most susceptible to damage from sun exposure.

The insurance company insisted that my name be on all the fucking titles as if that would somehow make certain all three vehicles were kept at the same property (multi vehicle discount), so the dark tint exemption also covers me. Fortunately, we got them tinted while doctors still provided a letter for it.

Two Orange County, California, supervisors are together offering $100,000 in additional reward money — bringing the total to $150,000 — as authorities continue to search for the person who fatally shot 6-year-old Aiden Leos in an apparent road-rage incident.

"It’s time for justice for Aiden Leos’s family. Aiden was fatally shot in Orange while on his way to school in Yorba Linda; both cities are in the District I represent," Supervisor Dan Wagner, whose office contributed $50,000, said in a tweet on Tuesday.

He wrote in another post, "Let’s identify the killer of innocent Aiden Leos. What happened is heartbreaking."

Supervisor Katrina Foley, whose office on Tuesday announced an additional $50,000 contribution toward the reward fund, said she hoped the combined fund "adds 150,000 reasons to encourage the public to send in any tips and information they might have, directly leading to the arrests of the individuals involved in Aiden’s death.”

Wagner and Foley said their rewards will add to a $50,000 reward the family was already offering for information that leads to the shooter.

ORANGE, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities on Thursday released a photo of the suspect vehicle involved in the road rage shooting death of 6-year-old Aiden Leos in Orange.

The California Highway Patrol described the vehicle as a white Volkswagen Golf SportWagen with non-tinted windows, either a 2018 or 2019 model.

The license plate is unknown.

CHP said the suspect vehicle continued driving northbound on the 55 Freeway to the eastbound 91 Freeway toward Riverside. The suspects were described as a female driver and a male passenger who pulled the trigger, according to Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer.

For some reason I couldn't copy the actual photo, so here is a photo of the exact same model and color.

Days after killing this kid, he brandished a weapon in another road rage incident. I hope they can tell this at his trial. Doesn't sound like a remorseful person. Let the jury know that.
