I 100% agree. Also, let's just say they themselves did set it up for argument's sake, wouldn't you think they'd have enough self awareness to realize how odd it would appear to people? Even if I were somehow wired to think along those lines during such a horrific event, I think I'd at least have the good sense to realize how strange it would come across and withhold my impulse to ask for money for a couple of days. And I do know that people process grief differently but your daughter, your 4 year old daughter was just murdered and you're basically begging for money. No. Just no. The thought of setting that up shouldn't enter into your brian, I don't care if people process gried differently, it's just wrong.
Exactly. Also, let's just say they did set it up for argument's sake, wouldn't you think they'd have enough self awareness to realize how odd it would appear to people? I really doubt they were told don't worry about money.I know it's expensive but most funeral homes will work with you on payments and in a case like this that has gotten national if not international attentio there is a chance that everything could end up donated. Funeral homes are a business and it looks really good in the eyes of the public to help a family like this one, the owners know that.
This.Exactly.
I imagine that the thought of how you're going to pay for a funeral and such would come into your mind but I would think that many people would think it would be poor timing to say the least.
But, we're in a time when so many people put their every moment on the internet via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., that I think those of us who would consider it "odd" and not do it are a dying breed. Hell, people are posing for selfies with the bodies at funerals, those of us who wouldn't consider such a thing are falling out of favor.
I don't think we know.I really doubt they were told don't worry about money.
Good heavens, that's WEIRD! The thought never even passed between my ears that people do that at funerals! Last night my fiance and I were chatting about what a strange feeling it is that we were around when cell phones were invented and the first "smart" technology wave gathered its momentum... and we're only in our early 30's. What's the world gonna be like in another 10-20 years?!But, we're in a time when so many people put their every moment on the internet via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., that I think those of us who would consider it "odd" and not do it are a dying breed. I'm 53 and I rember when we had a shared phone line and our phone was on the kitchen wall with a rotery dial.Good heavens, that's WEIRD! Party line?shared phone line
Yep, party line and yep, always tangled cord. Even if you spent 20 minutes fixing it, it just twisted right back up.Party line?
I remember those. Stupid neighbor loved to talk on the phone, it was never available.
We had a lovely rust colored rotary phone with a mismathed cord that was always tangled into a huge knot.
I really doubt they were told don't worry about money.
When my baby died and I had to make unexpected plans, no one told me not to worry about money... It was just the opposite.
Same thing when my dad passed away, everything was supposed to be paid for. Then they came up with a transport and freezer charge and I had to come up with almost $500.00 just to get started.
My hate is being reserved for the shooter.
That's why I'm in the Willed Body Program. If I have anything left I don't want them to have to spend it on a funeral.
Not necessarily, here in CO we've had a rash of senseless shootings on the hwys/roads by an unknown assailant(s). About as cowardly of a crime as I can imagine.I definitely want to know more about the story I wonder what the dad did to piss this guy off so bad not that it's a fathers fault this guy obviously is an evil bastard but I somehow doubt he just pulled up to the car and started shooting on a whim.
I noticed you're a new member, do you know the family? The go fund me account was set up by a family member.
Comments are, he was swerving in front of the truck and not letting him pass, sounds a bit beyond a finger or accidently cutting him offI have heard about the snipers who kill and the crazies but the father himself, said it was a road rage incident so that's why I am curious of the circumstance. I mean did he flip him off or accidentally cut him off?
Kinda new. Been lurking around this site for years and have only just registered. I am not family of the poor little girl but am from Albuquerque and have been following the news closely on this. also here is an update. or at least a little more info regarding what started this road rage. I hate that the father has been partially blamed. We have terrible drivers here in town but just because you flip someone off and yell at them that doesn't mean that you have to loose the life of your child.I noticed you're a new member, do you know the family?
I should probably clarify. I actually do agree that it was more than likely road rage and it's very possible the father could have done something to set the creep off. Anything from being blatantly rude in traffic, to next to nothing (a merge that's a little too close, a glance at the driver, a completely innocent driving mistake). I'm just saying that the kind of personality that would resort to shooting someone on a hwy for any perceived offense is definitely also capable of being crazy enough to not need any provocation.I have heard about the snipers who kill and the crazies but the father himself, said it was a road rage incident so that's why I am curious of the circumstance. One witness, Jonelle Tafoya, said she was driving on I-40 when she caught the action: a red truck was "not allowing the red (sedan) to pass (and) kept swerving from lane to lane to keep the vehicle behind them."
Tafoya peeled away from the two cars, but later got a notification on her phone that a child had been shot on the same highway.
"All I could think was, 'Oh my God. That was it exactly. That was probably the road rage incident we had seen,'" Tafoya told KOB.

The complaint states the girl's father, Alan Garcia, was driving westbound on Interstate 40 when a red Toyota cut him off and blocked him from exiting at Unser. Garcia told authorities he threw his hands in the air and gestured toward the driver, calling him, "f***ing idiot."
You related to the father? You only seem to be interested in his version of eventsThank you so much for this info. I couldn't agree more, if that's all the poor man did I think it's terrible for people to be blaming him. Throwing your hands up and saying "f***ing idiot" must happen a million times a day on hwys all across the US, yet sane people who don't have the mental capacity of an ameoba don't shoot others over it! Plus it sounds like the father's reaction was well deserved because this asshole instigated such aggressive behavior. Of course I'm going off the assumtion here that his version of events is accurate. If it turns out otherwise I may have to change my stance.
I want to hug the anonymous caller who turned his ass in!!!! Without them this very easily could have wound up a cold case. I hope they fry him.
It just breaks my heart because even if others weren't blaming Alan, you have to imagine he's blaming himself and will relive those few small choices and moments for the rest of his life. I feel so terrible for him and his family! RIP sweet darlin.![]()
I wrote that while you were posting about the witnesses version of events, so by the time I hit post I'd missed that info entirely. Secondly, did you miss what I said? I'll say it again...You related to the father? You only seem to be interested in his version of events
