A 3-year-old was abandoned Saturday at a Chuck E. Cheese’s in Sunrise. Police found the child’s guardian Sunday.

Officer Michelle Eddy with the Sunrise police wrote in a release that no negligence was detected nor were there prior incidents reported involving the child. Department of Children and Families was returning the child, who had been in the custody of Broward Protective Services since Saturday night and appeared to be in good health.

Sunrise police say surveillance cameras caught a woman who appeared to be in her 50s walk into the food-and-games establishment, 8089 W. Oakland Park Blvd., with the child around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, before leaving three hours later. A Chuck E. Cheese manager found the child unattended at 9:50 p.m.

No negligence was found when police investigated, Sunrise Police spokeswoman Michelle Eddy said. "Our investigation is complete," she said in an email.

Ummm, no negligence but she left without him!?!?!? WTF
Right? I don't get it. If the two showed up for a party or some shit and she maybe thought the kid was going home with a relative or friend for the night, and the relative or friend thought the kid was leaving with the unidentified woman, I can kinda see that. Wish the article was a bit clearer, cause this shit makes no sense.

It's chucky cheese...She's one of those people that thinks everyone there is her own personal babysitter!! That's all guys

I wondered if it was a case of a party where someone else was picking up, or she thought there was, although why would she have stayed for three hours before leaving? Normally if you're dropping off, you drop off, maybe exchange a few pleasantries with other caregivers, then boogie. Well, that's what I do anyway though I'm not known for my social skills...
