A two-year-old girl has died after being found with a "number of serious injuries" in Blackpool.

Connor Gibson, 23, of Melrose Ave, Blackpool, is charged with murder and is due before magistrates on Monday.

Police said Kasey Hambleton was found "unresponsive" by emergency crews in Layton on Thursday.

She was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital then transferred to Liverpool's Alder Hey in a critical condition. She died on Saturday.

A 23-year-old woman, also from the town, was arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed until 8 July.
