Lauryn Shakespeare killed her 2-month-old son by throwing him head-first onto their apartment floor, officials allege in newly filed court documents.

The fire department took Loyal to Stroger Hospital, where he died about an hour later.

An autopsy revealed the infant suffered a cerebral hematoma and a linear skull fracture on the right side of his head, injuries deemed “inconsistent” with Shakespeare’s account of the events, according to the report.
Prosecutors allege that Shakespeare intended to seriously injure or kill Loyal by throwing him onto the floor. They charged her with first-degree murder and murder.
