A Mount Saint Charles Academy student and basketball player is being charged with second-degree sexual assault for an incident that allegedly occurred on the private school campus last week.
Court documents show Oluwasegun Sanni, 19, of Nigeria, is facing one charge of second-degree sexual assault stemming from a March 17 complaint.

A police report obtained by 12 News show the alleged incident happened on campus last Tuesday and involves a 15-year-old female student.

According to a police report obtained by 12 News, the student responded to the Woonsocket police department with her mother last Tuesday to file a report. The student told police that after leaving the girl’s locker room with a friend, she waited in the hallway because the friend forgot something inside and went to retrieve it.
The student said Sanni approached her when she was alone and pushed her away from the hallway camera where she was “cornered,” according to police.

The student told police she was grabbed and kissed without her consent, adding that she specifically told Sanni to stop and tried to push him away, but was unsuccessful due to his size. A police report indicates that Sanni is 6 ft. 9 and weighs 214 lbs.
The female student told police that it was “out of character” for Sanni to act this way, and that he had a “strange look in his eyes.” She said he winked at her as he walked away.
