A 16-year-old in North Dakota is facing several charges for crimes against children after attempting to gain babysitting jobs through Facebook groups: Babysitting Jobs for Ages 13-18, Babysitting Group and Babysitter Needed.
According to court documents, messages sent by his Facebook page included, “I am looking for kids between the ages of 4-8 to babysit in Mandan” and “I prefer girls, but I also babysit boys.”

The teen was reportedly found to have hundreds of photos/videos depicting young children across multiple devices. He was allegedly distributing child sex abuse material via email, including images he created of a 6-year-old girl.
Court documents shared messages he allegedly sent, stating, “I’m a pedophile,” “I’m sorry that I like small. Like really small,” and “If not her, it’s gonna end up being a different girl.”
The teen’s search history reportedly contained multiple questions about grooming.

He was also in possession of a directory labeled “training” containing 15 videos related to how to groom female children into performing sexual acts and avoid getting caught, authorities said.
The teen was reported to law enforcement by his adopted father, who told them his son was sending child sex abuse material to his younger brother, who still lived at home.
Court documents stated the teen has little to no understanding of the concerns caused by his actions and showed little remorse for his behavior.

A North Dakota teenager charged with multiple child sex crimes has filed a petition to enter a guilty plea, according to court records filed April 2, 2026.

Valley News Live is continuing to withhold the defendant’s name. He was 15 at the time of the alleged crimes and is currently 17 years old.
Court documents show the teen is pleading guilty to five counts of Possession of Certain Materials Prohibited, all to be served concurrently.
As part of the plea agreement, the following charges will be dismissed:
  • Two counts of Promoting or Directing an Obscene Sexual Performance by a Minor
  • One count of Sexual Assault
Under the plea agreement, the teen faces five years incarceration, with all time suspended in favor of five years of supervised probation.
Additional conditions include:
  • No contact with the identified victim
  • Sex offender registration
  • Sex offender treatment
  • DNA sample submission
  • Fingerprinting
The agreement must still be approved by the court. Court documents note the defendant understands he has the right to withdraw his guilty plea and proceed to trial if the court does not accept the agreement.

According to court documents, messages sent from his Facebook page included: “I am looking for kids between the ages of 4-8 to babysit in Mandan” and “I prefer girls, but I also babysit boys.”
Investigators found the teen in possession of hundreds of photos and videos depicting young children across multiple devices. He was allegedly distributing child sex abuse material via Gmail, including images he created of a 6-year-old girl.

Court documents detail threatening messages he allegedly sent, including: “If not her it’s gonna end up being a different girl.”
His search history reportedly contained multiple questions about grooming. Investigators also found a directory labeled “training” containing 15 videos related to grooming female children into performing sexual acts and avoiding detection.

The teen was in the custody of Cass County Social Services at the time. He was reported to law enforcement by a family member, who told police the teen was sending child sex abuse material to another minor in the home.
