10YO Boy Stabbed To Death; 13YO Charged With Murder in Pennsylvania

A 10-year-old boy is dead and a 13-year-old is facing murder charges after a stabbing in Westmoreland County.

James Campbell, 13, has been charged with criminal homicide and first-degree murder. He is being charged as an adult.

The victim was identified as Hunter Meyers, 10. He died about three weeks before his 11th birthday.

Police said the victim was sleeping over at Campbell’s house. Someone later called 911 around 6 a.m. when they found the victim dead with a knife beside him. Investigators said that Campbell had blood on his pants and feet.

Campbell confessed to police to stabbing the victim in the head several times, according to the complaint.

A motive for the stabbing is still unknown.
