" Pima County Sheriff’s Department said 66-year-old Peggy Hatmaker was shot in a home in the 5000 block of West Nighthawk Way around 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6. The home is near West Linda Vista Boulevard and North Hartman Lane.
The PCSD said when deputies got to the home, they found her son, 37-year-old Jonathan Hatmaker, at the front door holding a handgun.
According to the initial complaint released on Monday, Peggy Hatmaker was shot several times, including once to the head. Investigators said due to the blood spatter, it appears she was already on the ground on her back when she was shot under the cWhen he called 911, Jonathan Hatmaker told the dispatch, “I killed my mom and she deserved it,” according to the complaint. When asked why she deserved it, he said, “She gave birth to me.”
According to the document, he has a history of mental illness and may not have any other family in the Tucson area."
