Fighting Crime News and Who's Wanted
On June 19, 2021, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the Rocky Mount Police Department responded to a sexual assault at the Rocky Mount Sports Complex located at 600 Independence Dr. The victim stated she was walking on the "walking trail" when she was sexually assaulted.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’5”- 6’0” in height, stocky build, with short twists in his hair. The suspect was wearing a blue hoodie and red, white, and blue shorts. After the assault, the suspect fled the scene.
The suspect, Kylik Mabry, a 18-year-old male, was later located and interviewed by the Rocky Mount Police Department Criminal Investigation Division. Mabry was charged and arrested with the following charges:
• 2nd degree Rape
• Strangulation
• Common Law Robbery
Mabry received a $301,000 secured bond which included outstanding warrants on non-related charges.

"Not that there was any chance the accused would find a bondsman. “Usually when a judge sets an odd amount like that, they are trying to communicate to the bonding community that if you make this bond, we’ll burn your backside,” said Charles White, president of the Tennessee Association of Professional Bail Agents."
