A Muncie foster dad was arrested Saturday morning after police say he molested two children in his care.

Jaython Patterson, 41, faces preliminary charges of child molesting and vicarious sexual gratification.

Patterson and his husband were fostering six children, all of whom were removed from a residence. They were longtime foster parents, according to police.

As of Monday, only Patterson faced preliminary charges.

The Indiana Department of Child Services on Friday contacted a Muncie police officer after a child said that his foster parent, Patterson, had fondled him, "showed him how to masturbate" and would masturbate in front of him. The child told DCS that Patterson had taught him what he called the "Tickle Your Pickle" game and that another child in the home also participated. The boy told DCS that Patterson had also shown him a sexual video of Patterson and his husband, a probable cause affidavit says.

According to the affidavit, after all six children were removed from the home, the second child mentioned disclosed the same abuse to DCS.

DCS confirmed with News 8 that Patterson served as a foster parent for 25 children over the course of 2 1/2 years. A DCS spokeswoman said their records show Patterson never had a complaint against him.

During an interview with a Muncie police officer, Patterson admitted "demonstrating how to masturbate" to both children and said the children were in bed with him when it happened. He also admitted to showing them a video of himself and his husband, according to the affidavit.

Patterson was in the Delaware County Jail but bonded out, online court records show.

Jathan Lee Patterson, 42, had pleaded guilty to two counts of child molesting, a Level 4 felony carrying up to 12 years in prison.

Muncie police arrested Patterson in December 2018 after being told by Department of Child Services officials that an 8-year-old boy reported Patterson had fondled him and also masturbated in his presence.

That child reported another of Patterson's foster children, a 7-year-old boy, had been abused in a similar manner.

"Even now, (Patterson) can't admit the seriousness of his crimes," Feick wrote in his sentencing order.

The judge said Patterson "rationalized that he was attempting to help the victims in the activities he conducted."

Feick said the victims in the case were "particularly vulnerable," in part due to earlier abuse.

When interviewed by police, Patterson admitted to “physically demonstrating how to masturbate” to the children, and touching their genitalia while showing them how to perform the act “properly.”

Patterson was determined to be a sexually violent offender — given credit for one day spent in the Delaware County jail following his arrest — will be required, after his release from prison, to register with local authorities as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

I'll give you a hint: there is an abundance of evidence that they exist in public schools and adult-led kids' social clubs throughout the world with the hopes of perverting and manipulating and coercing young minds to become sex-obsessed identity grifting automatons; yet the mainstream media gleefully denies that it is happening at all, or at least happening in any serious or meaningful way.

What word would describe two gay male foster parents who want to teach children how to "tickle" their "pickle"? And would doubtlessly strongly encourage these children to be gay as well? Yet if these "foster fathers" were instead teaching children in a public classroom by handing out literature disseminating the same thing (or at least tolerating the possibility of them accessing the literature), it is somehow dubbed a "quality education" by swamp underlords such as Joy Reid.




(And yes, I understand that whatever magically taboo word I'm thinking of does not exclusively apply to gay people, or that all gay people do such a thing. Any implication of such would be a straw man against my above comment.)

Sex offenders getting longer sentences than child murderers is kinda confounding.

as in, the murders should probably get BULLET TO THE HEAD

or, bullet both. I mean, no loss either way. Just don't take 100 years to get it done if the guilt is clear.

It creates an issue where if the sex assault does occur, the offender has a motive to kill for a possible lighter sentence. Same is true with many states dui laws, people that are drunk that do cause serious injury or death, some will sober up then turn themselves into the police, if they're able to run.
