Quenisha Hawkins has been arrested after police say she caused an injury to her child that resulted in the child's death death.
Police Officers were flagged down by the mother Hawkins, who said her 5-month-old son was unresponsive, according to Beaumont police spokesperson Haley Morrow.
When officers arrived, they performed CPR and continued "life-saving measures" until emergency medical personnel arrived, Morrow said.
An investigation revealed the child's injuries likely were caused by shaking, causing multiple fractures and severe eye and brain injuries, she said.
The baby died Oct. 30 due to a heart attack brought on by the injuries, Morrow said.
