Ashley Bush

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office said a missing pregnant Benton County woman and her baby were found dead in Missouri.

Benton County Sheriff Shawn Holloway said that Ashley Bush’s body was found in Missouri on November 3. The sheriff says that Bush’s baby was also found in a separate location also in McDonald County on November 2.
According to Benton County Prosecutor Nathan Smith, Ashley Bush died from an apparent gunshot wound.

Two people are currently in custody, according to the sheriff. Amber Waterman and Jamie Waterman are currently being held in McDonald County Jail. According to Smith, they are both facing federal charges of kidnapping, but more charges could be added later.

According to Smith, the Watermans were husband and wife. Smith also says it is unclear how Ashley Bush and Amber Waterman met online. “Lucy” was a fake name that Amber used online, according to Smith.

Was her intention to steal this woman's baby?

McDonald County Missouri. My my my what a shithole. Its literally one of the worse counties in the state of Missouri. Last time I was there I thought I was going to send some tweakers to hell in a Casey's parking lot.

Amber Waterman was suppose to give birth to her own child on or around October 17th if she did not that it would confirm that the plan was to steal Ashley's baby and pass it off as her own.

The deceased infant's name is Valkyrie Grace Willis.

ty i thought that is was that but for the life of me i don't see why anyone would take pics like that so i thought i must be wrong
Oh hell no!

When people begin to think they can acquire children by cracking open a womb like an easter egg, you can expect anything.

Have seen this scenario a couple times now so I'm beginning to get to the point where I suspect women that post ultrasounds and cheerlead the date approaching soon (day after day after day)... especially if they are not remotely stable.

Always charged with a man, appear chubby (ah, but have always been chubby).

People that are nuts come in all flavors (yeah - suggesting feed them to rottweilers).

The federal criminal complaint alleges that between Oct. 31 and Nov. 2, 2022, Amber kidnapped Bush, who was 31 weeks pregnant, in order to claim her unborn child as her own. She allegedly took Bush from Maysville, Arkansas, to Pineville, resulting in her death.

Jamie Waterman has been charged with one count of being an accessory after the fact to kidnapping resulting in death. The federal criminal complaint alleges that he helped Amber Waterman after the kidnapping and murder.

Amber Waterman is accused of creating a fake Facebook account under the name of "Lucy Barrows" on Oct. 25, 2022, to lure Bush into meeting her so she could steal her unborn child.

Bush was reported missing on Monday, Oct. 31. Her fiancé, Josh Willis, told law enforcement that he saw her being driven as a passenger in a tan pickup truck by a woman he knew as “Lucy.” They had originally met “Lucy” at the Gravette public library a few days earlier, at which time “Lucy” was driving the same pickup truck. During this meeting at the library, “Lucy” and Bush had discussed employment opportunities, and later that day, “Lucy” offered to drive her to meet her supervisor at a Bentonville company, Bush's fiance said.

"Lucy" was supposed to take Bush to Bentonville for an interview on Oct. 31, but when Bush’s fiancé showed up to pick her up at the Handi-Stop in Maysville he said he saw "Lucy" make eye contact with him and drive away.

According to an arrest affidavit, Amber told detectives that she had been home all day on Oct. 31 with her son and another child, and she "went into labor" that afternoon.

After calling 911, Amber traveled to meet an ambulance at a store in McDonald County. Amber told detectives that she had delivered a stillborn child that evening.

According to KOAM, our CBS affiliate, McDonald County Sheriff Evenson said they responded to reports of a newborn baby not breathing on Monday night. EMS intercepted the couple near Longview, Mo. as they were on the way to a hospital.

EMS could not revive the baby, and the baby died.

On Nov. 1, detectives met with the Watermans who let them search the home and the tan-colored truck, matching the description of the one Bush was last seen in, according to prosecutors.

When detectives asked for Amber's phone, she told them that she had lost it. She also told investigators that she was the only person who had access to the tan-colored truck that was at the home.

When asked if she had known about Bush, Amber told detectives that she did not know her. When asked about "Lucy Barrows," Amber said that she previously had worked with her at Walmart but they were not close, according to court records.

The vehicle was seized by law enforcement and search warrants were obtained on Thursday, Nov. 3, for the vehicle and home. During the search, detectives found what they believed to be blood stains on the inside of the vehicle.

Detectives questioned Jamie again on Thursday, Nov. 3. According to the affidavit, he told detectives that, after they had questioned them and left their home, Amber told him she had killed Bush and then quickly changed her story and said “Lucy” had killed her.

Court records state that Amber led Jamie to the body of Bush, who was lying face down next to a boat near their house, covered in a blue tarp. Amber removed a ring from Ashley Bush’s finger and rolled her body onto the blue tarp, the affidavit says, which Jamie then dragged to a fire pit behind the home. The Watermans allegedly burned the body, moved it onto the bed of Jamie's blue GMC pickup, and drove a short distance from their home to hide the body.

In court on Nov. 4, the Watermans were assigned a public defender. The federal prosecutor asked the court to hold them without bond until their trial. A hearing will be held in Springfield on Nov. 9 for the court to rule on that issue. Until then, they will be in federal custody.

January 4, 2024
— Federal prosecutors are asking to seek the death penalty against Amber Waterman, a Southwest Missouri woman accused of killing a pregnant woman and her unborn child.

A federal indictment against Amber and her husband, Jamie Waterman, says that on Oct. 31, 2022, Amber kidnapped Ashley Bush after meeting with her online under false pretenses and killed both her and her unborn child while attempting to claim the child.
Benton County Prosecuting Attorney Josh Robinson told 5NEWS that federal prosecutors are now asking the Justice Department for clearance on moving forward with the death penalty in the case.

"There are some crimes that are so bad and so insidious that the only right thing to do is seek the most severe punishment that we have," Robinson said.

Robinson adds that he is already planning to seek the death penalty against Amber for charges filed in state court.

Amber is facing charges of causing the death of an unborn child and kidnapping resulting in death, and her husband Jamie is charged with accessory after the fact.

A Missouri woman has been sentenced to two life terms in prison for killing a pregnant Arkansas woman and trying to pass off the dead woman's fetus as her own stillborn baby.
Amber Waterman, 44, of Pineville, Missouri, is not eligible for parole under the sentence ordered Tuesday, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. She pleaded guilty in July to kidnapping resulting in death and causing the death of a child in utero.
At Amber Waterman's sentencing, the judge said he couldn't impose a sentence that would be sufficient in this case, saying Amber Waterman's crime was a "new level of graphic," CBS Springfield affiliate KOLR-TV reports.
Prosecutors also spoke during the proceedings and said the pain caused by Amber Waterman would span generations, while her defense attorneys declined to speak, saying they preferred not to due a case pending against her in Arkansas.
According to KLOR, one Bush family member said during the sentencing hearing that she prayed "suffering comes back tenfold" to Amber Waterman, and another said she is the "face of Satan" and "has a black soul."

These people are evil to devise such a plan, but then they don’t think more than a few seconds ahead either! Science is far too advanced to avoid detection anymore! My condolences to Miss Bush’s Family, the States Attorney was correct when he said that this offense would be felt for generations in this family!

The attorneys for Amber Waterman have filed two new motions in Benton County Circuit Court, including one seeking a mental evaluation to determine her fitness to stand trial, according to court documents.
Waterman, 45, of Pineville, Mo., is charged with two counts of capital murder in connection with the deaths of Ashley Bush and her unborn child, Valkyrie Grace Willis.
Prosecutors previously told KNWA/FOX24 that they are seeking the death penalty.
Two motions were filed on April 30 by Jeff Rosenzweig, one of Waterman’s attorneys. The first motion is for a mental evaluation to determine whether Waterman is fit to stand trial.

Rosenzwieg’s motion said Waterman has a lesion/tumor/cyst/growth that has caused “various symptoms” including seizures. She will undergo either an MRI, CT scan or X-ray, according to the motion.
The second motion Rosenzweig filed is seeking to prevent prosecutors from referring to Waterman’s federal convictions, along with any statements Waterman made in federal proceedings.
Earlier this month, the Arkansas Supreme Court denied the possible dismissal of the murder charges against Waterman, affirming Benton County Circuit Judge Robin Green’s decision.

I am sure any jurist already knows about this woman - how can she get a fair trial?

She is serving 2 life sentences in federal prison without the possibility of parole and will likely die in prison unless she is pardoned, reprieved, or granted compassionate release.
