Dallas, TX – A Dallas man has been charged with abducting his two young sons and then drowning them in a creek. Police say the children’s mother was walking 5-year-old Naim to school for his first day, along with his 3-year-old brother, Elijah, when their father, 32-year-old Naim Muhammad, drove up and forced all of them into his car while threatening them with a brick. The couple have a history of domestic violence, but were*separated. Relatives say they had recently been*arguing over their children.*The mother was able to jump out of the car when a constable drove up, but Muhammad jumped the curb and drove off. Several hours later, authorities received a 911 call from a woman who said her son had drowned her grandchildren. Police would eventually find the two boys in the back of their father’s car parked in a parking lot. Muhammad had drowned both of them in a muddy creek. “I think everyone’s hurt in this case,” said Deputy Chief Craig Miller. “I think officers that open up the trunk of a vehicle, the back hatch of a vehicle, and see a deceased three-year-old and a five-year-old, I think each one of us think about our own children, the vulnerableness of life.” Muhammad was found by a SWAT team in a nearby creek and taken into custody.*After his arrest, Muhammad told reporters, “I got something to say. My kids… I love ‘em.“*Muhammad is being held on $2 million bond. Police say that this story could have been even more tragic. Muhammad had attempted to retrieve his 1-year-old son from a relative who refused to let him have the baby.

DALLAS –– The capital murder trial of the Dallas father accused of kidnapping and drowning his two children in 2011 began Monday.
If convicted, Naim Rasool Muhammad, 34, could be sentenced to death or life in prison. On Aug. 22, 2011, investigators say Muhammad approached his two children as they were walking to Frazier Elementary School with their mother. He forced all three into his vehicle and drove away.
The mother was able to escape and ran to a Dallas constable for help, triggering a nearly four hour search to find the boys, Elijah, 3, and Naim, 5. Authorities were too late –– the two were drowned and later found in the trunk of a car.
During opening statements on Monday, prosecutor Tammy Kemp told the jury that Muhammad told his children that he loved them and then asked them to "play like they were swimming" while he "grabbed each and their their heads down in the filthy, stinky creek until they stopped breathing, stopped moving."
"He took the boys to the creek, Naim was saying, 'I wanna live, Daddy, I wanna live,'" Kemp said.
Muhammad has been charged with two counts of capital murder. Authorities have said that the 34-year-old was upset about the end of his turbulent relationship with the mother of his children.
Defense attorney Paul Johnson spoke for less than five minutes during his opening statements, telling the jury that, while Muhammad is guilty, they should keep an open mind during testimony. Muhammad, however, pled not guilty to the charges against him

A Dallas jury heard heartbreaking and terrifying testimony from a mother recounting the moments before the death of her two sons.

Kametra Sampson took the stand to testify against her children’s father, Naim Rasool Muhammad, who is on trial for drowning his three- and five-year old sons.

Sampson explained how she was walking with three-year-old Elijah and five-year-old Naim to school for what would have been Naim’s first day of kindergarten when Muhammad drove up and forced all of them into a car. She testified that the Muhammad drove them around aimlessly for nearly two hours — when he became violent.

“He raised his hand and hit me in my nose. I started bleeding from my mouth,â€￾ she told the courtroom.

Sampson said when she spotted a Dallas County constable next to them at a red light, she began to plot her escape and flag the constable down for help.

“I decided to try and go ahead and get out,â€￾ Sampson testified. She says she jumped out of the car and pleaded to the constable for help. “I told her I needed some help. He says he was going to kill my kids.â€￾

Sampson asked the constable to follow Muhammad, but says the constable told her she couldn’t. Constables in Dallas County’s Precinct 1 have a no chase policy.

Sampson told the jury about the moment she learned her sons were dead.

“When I walked in everybody was just crying. I said ‘What’s going on? Somebody please tell me something,â€￾ she said. “One of the detectives told me they were dead, I didn’t believe her. I didn’t believe her.â€￾

"no chase policy"??? What the Fuck! You could've saved 2 babies from their fate, or at least gave a good swing at it. I wonder how the constable feels now. I know it may have been against their procedures, but if I was the constable, I would've put my job on the line to save those 2 little Angels. Wow... Just.... Wow. Poor babies....

I would have chased and let them fire me for it, then go screaming to the media why I was fired. I'm sorry, a stupid "no chase" rule would not have stopped me.

It wouldn't have stopped me either. I do understand a no chase policy but in this case where babies...I said BABIES....are at risk, policy be damned!

It took less than 10 minutes for a Dallas County jury to find a North Texas father guilty of Capital Murder for drowning his two sons.

Wednesday morning the prosecution rested their case against Naim Rasool Muhammad. The defense called no witnesses, since attorneys never disputed their 34-year-old client was guilty.

Prosecutors are seeking a death sentence for Muhammad. Attorneys are expected to mount their strongest defense during the punishment phase of the trial, in an effort to try and keep Muhammad off death row.

The sentencing phase of the trail is scheduled to get underway at 12:30 p.m.

A North Texas man was sentenced to death on Thursday for drowning his two young sons in a Dallas-area creek.

The Dallas County jury took about three and a half hours to sentence Naim Rasool Muhammad. The same jury took less than 10 minutes last week to find him guilty of capital murder in the deaths of 5-year-old Naim and 3-year-old Elijah.

"I apologize for bringing any pain and hurt on anybody for the actions that I have caused to you all," Muhammad said after the sentence was announced.

He said that the only reason he did it was because he wanted to be a father and thought that was being taken away.

In closing arguments, prosecutor Tammy Kemp called Muhammad "a monster" and "100 percent pure evil." That angered Muhammad's mother, who stood up and shouted, "That is not a monster. He is my son." She bolted from the courtroom but could be heard shouting in the corridor outside as Kemp resumed her closing argument.

Defense attorney Paul Johnson told jurors that the children's deaths were, indeed, a horrible crime -- one deserving of life imprisonment without parole. He told jurors that Muhammad's neglect by a mother who was a crack-addicted prostitute and upbringing amid violence and sexual abuse warped him. That, Johnson said, was sufficient mitigation to spare him the death penalty.

"If it's not this case, what is it?" he said. "He is not evil, but he has committed an evil act."

Fuck that assholey apology. He's NOT sorry for anything that he did or he wouldn't have followed up with that statement. No one took your kids away but you, you filthy pig. Blame all the hurt of not being a father on your vile soul, IF you even have one.

Those sweet boys begged for their lives and yet he felt no love or compassion all he was out for was revenge
