Sentenced: Man Repeatedly Raped 12YO, Starting When Her Mother Had Twins

According to the arrest report, “[The victim] said she used to reside in [blacked out] Florida with her mother, her siblings, and [relationship blacked out] Tomas Ramirez. She stated the first time something happened was on 06/14/20 when she was 12 years old. She stated she was sleeping in her mother's bed because her mother was in the hospital with complications from recently giving birth to twins. She was awoken from Tomas getting into bed and laying against her. She could feel that his clothes were off. She then felt pain in her [body part] as he inserted his [body part] into her [body part]. He covered her mouth with his hand, and she felt like she could not breathe. She stated she later saw a blood from her [body part] when she took a shower and there was also blood on the bed sheets.”

The arrest report said the next attack happened the next day.

“There were no adults at home besides Tomas. [The victim] was folding laundry in her bedroom when Tomas came into the room and began taking off his clothes. [The victim] tried to leave but he stopped her from leaving and took off her clothes until she was naked. Tomas put a sheet on the floor and laid her down on her back. He put his [body part] into her [body part]. She recalled Thomas breathing hard, lifting her leg, and moving his body up and down while his [body part] was inside her. Once he was done, he told her to put her clothes on and he left the room.

“[The victim] had said there were several incidents after those two which occurred in and out of the home. Several incidents occurred at a horse stables which Tomas worked at. Also, an incident occurred in a wooded area.

“[The victim] had indicated the abuse began in June 2020 and went until approximately August 2020. She stated the last time was at the horse stable. She stated that time, Tomas had taken out a small colorful package which had a transparent bag inside. Tomas had put that on his [body part]. She stated he did not always use the condom but sometimes did. She stated he would touch her with his hands on her [body parts] and on her legs.

“She stated she did not tell anyone about the abuse because Tomas had threatened her and told her that her mother would be deported.”

A detective translated and the report said, “Tomas admits to having a sexual relationship with [the victim]. He blames her, stating she initiated the sexual encounters and asked him to have sex with her. [The victim] confronts Tomas with the fact that he took her virginity, and he states that he did. [The victim] tells him that he hurt her. Tomas states that he loved her and knew she was a minor and what he did was wrong.”

Tomas Juan Ramirez, now 47, was charged with sexual battery with a child while in a position of familial or custodial authority.
