Robert Jackson Jones Jr., 24, of Muskogee, is charged with six counts of child abuse after he allegedly grabbed his 1-month-old baby by the throat, shook him, smothered him to muffle his cries, slammed the baby against a changing table, threw him into a ceiling fan and dropped him in the bathroom, according to the affidavit.

The alleged incidents occurred between Aug. 16 and Aug. 19, the report stated.

Jones told officials the baby’s head hit the toilet during the fall. After the baby started having seizures, Jones and the baby’s mother took him took the hospital on Aug. 20, KOKI-TV in Tulsa reported.

The infant was suffering from two skull fractures and bleeding around his brain. The baby also suffered a bruise on his left eye and fingerprint bruises on either side of his neck, according to television station KOTV in Tulsa.

The baby survived, but was in critical condition at last report.

Jones is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Sept. 5., according to the newspaper.

There is a video in the link where his mother stated that the POS had been physically violent with her in the past but that she never thought he would hurt the baby.

He admits to first abusing the baby on August 16, and thereafter through the 19th, but baby was not taken to the hospital until August 20th. Did mom not notice any issues with the baby during that five day time span??

Also, if the guy had been violent with her, why on earth would she have reason to think he would not be violent with the baby? Clearly he has anger issues, which a fussy, crying infant could provoke. And finally... yet another case where the woman is working and her man is available to babysit because he, of course, isn't working.

The infant was suffering from two skull fractures and bleeding around his brain.
I hope he doesn't have permanent brain damage, but it seems quite possible considering his injuries.

I hope so too but I fear after hitting his head and being choked there will be some damage. Listening to the mother she does not seem like she would be able to care for him and keep him safe even if he was healthy.

I also think the father is as limited as the mother look at his ears.

Stingy ass ears!

I wonder if it's possible he might've suspected baby wasn't his. A dumb ass who doubts his paternity may take it out on the baby this way...

This poor little guy suffered so many painful injuries and then was beat some more for crying from the pain. That just kills me.

My dad used to say "stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about." Now, when it's my turn to take care of him, I want to twist his words around so they come back to haunt him. But then I remember that I don't want to turn out like he did. He made some great changes in his life once past the age of 45, but my sister's and I had to deal with him before that.

I never understood that phrase. My parents used it. It only made me cry harder.

Robert Jackson Jones Jr., 25, was given six concurrent 45-year sentences in prison with all but the first 30 years suspended.

Jones was arrested in August 2017 and confessed to injuring the child.
Jones admitted to picking the baby up "by the throat with his hands," shaking the baby to get him to stop crying, smothering the baby in the couch to muffle the sound, slamming the baby against the changing table and throwing the baby in the air which caused his head to be hit by a ceiling fan.

He also said he dropped the baby off his shoulders in the bathroom, causing the baby's head to "slam into the toilet while he fell to the ground."
The infant was taken to Saint Francis Hospital Muskogee's emergency room by the baby's mother, Emma Lea Whitehead and Jones, who is the baby's father, according to court documents.

The couple told the hospital the child was having seizures, and the hospital found through a CT scan that the infant had a "small right temporal skull fracture, a left temporal skull fracture, and a large subdural hematoma." The infant also had a contusion to his left eye, as well as "fingerprint contusions on each side of (his) neck" and near his left ear.

After the child was transferred to a Tulsa hospital, it was discovered that his hemoglobin levels were extremely low, "indicating possible continual blood loss."

The injuries "are considered to be non-accidental injuries," court documents state.
District Attorney Orvil Loge said the baby is doing well.

"Hopefully, he makes a full recovery," Loge said. "Unfortunately, we won't know for a few years."

He deserves everyday of the thirty years he will do.

I don't think the woman did anytime :(
