The Niagara County District Attorney announced an arrest has been made following the death of a three-year-old boy in Niagara Falls.

Christopher O'Neil Pizarro died on February 15 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, his death was ruled a homicide.

Police say a 911 call came in on February 15 for an unresponsive three-year-old boy. The child was transported to NFMMC with a faint pulse. Medical staff worked on Pizzaro for over an hour before he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy performed at ECMC in February ruled the preliminary cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head.

Officials now say the child's mother, 22-year-old Alechmarie Pizarro, 22, has been charged with second degree murder and first degree manslaughter in connection with the death of Christopher.

Alechmarie Pizarro allegedly committed the crimes between January 1, 2020 and February 15, 2020 while living in Niagara Falls.
