A 7-month-old girl suffered multiple broken bones and bruises at the hands of a Reading man who was caring for her, according to court records.
Chase Fleek's bond is set at $300,000 for felonious assault and child endangering.
Reading police said Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center contacted them about a possible case of child abuse.
According to an affidavit filed in Hamilton County Municipal Court, Fleek admitted to a detective that he put pressure on the legs of 7-month-old Samira Cunningham causing her right leg to break in several places.
He also admitted grabbing Samira “aggressively and violently in emotional rage causing her right arm to break,” court documents state.
In addition, police wrote, Fleek told the detective the girl fell and injured her face after he sat her on a table and walked away.
The child’s grandmother, Natasha Jackson, says the girl was left with the mother of the child’s sister, which led to the girl being in the care of Fleek.
Asked why Fleek would assault the girl, Jackson answered, “He said because she was crying.”
Jackson says the girl is doing “well.”
