For years, a New York woman could do nothing but watch helplessly as the New Age author she says molested her as a child admitted and defended his nauseating conduct to Dr. Phil and The New York Times — until Wednesday, when she sued him in Manhattan Supreme Court, thanks to the new Child Victims Act.

Sara Kabakov claims popular New Age thinker Marc Gafni — born Marc Winiarz — repeatedly sexually assaulted her over a nine-month period beginning in 1980 when she was 13 and he was a 19-year-old Yeshiva University student, according to the lawsuit.

She is suing under New York’s Child Victims Act, which opened a one-year window beginning in August to revive sexual abuse claims that would normally be time-barred.

The allegations first cropped up in a 2004 Jewish Week article, in which a woman anonymously said she was molested by Gafni in 1980 when she was 13.

Gafni, now 59 and a former Orthodox rabbi, was quoted in a 2015 New York Times profile as saying about the claims: “She was 14 going on 35, and I never forced her.”

Kabakov shared her story with the Forward in 2016, claiming Gafni would sneak into her bedroom at night, wake her up and grope her.

This is just one reason I don't think anyone needs guru's or spiritual leaders. Don't give away your inner power to others. We, too, can dip into that deep pool of spiritual wisdom without gurus, mind opening drugs, or sweat lodges. All of those things are about setting your state of mind, and there are other ways you can do it yourself.

This is one of the few people who've had an article on Dreamin' Demon whom I have previously heard of. One of the others is another Dr. Phil guest, Sexy Vegan. (Others include Dreamin' Demon's articles on Kobe Bryant's death, and the one on that disgusting French director who won the Cesars, but that's a tangent.)

What I gather from this man, and what I remember from the Dr. Phil episode, is that he is open about having done horrible things, particularly to teenage girls. He does not feel much shame about this, and has molded his pseudo-intellect and philosophies around vague apologetics and why it's not as big of a deal as everyone else says it is; also, there's a predictable dose of "I'm the real victim here" peppered in too. There's that, and some other shallow pontificating that sounds cute.

He personally reminds me of Keith Rainere, of NXIVM fame. Even his appearance is not that far off.

This guy and Raniere are two types of the same thing:

God fucking damn, are priests, rabbi's and whatever the towel heads call their supreme pigfuckers, more likely to rape kids and teenagers? Or am I just reading to much into it?

I wonder how many times some kid had thought "I want to be a Youth Pastor when I grew up. Here, let me put that into Google so maybe I can learn more about it..."

...

"Oh... oh my..."

Never heard of him. But then, I don't follow that new age shit. Hope the victim wins her suit, and any other victims come forward...
