A Las Vegas dentist set a 5-year-old girl’s mouth on fire during a routine procedure, leaving her with burns, a new lawsuit claims.

The child’s parents filed the complaint last week in Las Vegas district court against the dentist, Deep Karan Dhillon, over her care, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Their daughter went about a year ago to Just For Kids Dentistry & Orthodontics to have multiple crowns placed in her mouth.

While there, Dhillon used a tool known as a diamond bur to smooth her teeth, but it caused a spark that led the “throat pack in (the girl’s mouth) to ignite” and start a fire, according to the complaint.

She was brought to University Medical Center, where she was treated for four days with burns to her palate and lower lip, the suit said.

Her parents allege that she suffered burns to her epiglottis, throat, tongue, mouth and lips in addition to surrounding areas.

What the fuck is a 5 year old doing with multiple crowns? Or even one crown? 5 year olds still have their baby teeth and unless they're weird, or have some genetic fuck-up, crowns are stupid. Its a fucking scam.

Depends on many factors, especially for preemies, who may have problems with initial tooth development, or the enamel is ruined when some medications are proscribed to children who haven't developed their baby teeth, and/or are just cutting their first teeth (ie: tetracycline).
