Sentenced: Detroit Lakes Man Killed Cat Using A Wire, Wanted To Kill A Cat Everyday Until His Wife Came Home

New details are coming to light around an alleged animal cruelty case out of lakes country.

We first told you about a man in Detroit Lakes who was accused of killing a cat and sticking it on the grill of his car. That man, Timothy Lee, 30 has since been arraigned in Becker County on two felony counts of animal cruelty.

Court documents say on September 26th, deputies went to Lee’s home on reports that he was making threat to kill cats. Deputies asked Lee about allegations of a dead cat hanging on the grill of his wife’s car the day before. Court documents go on to say Lee admitted to authorities he killed the cat by suffocating it with a wire.

Deputies say Lee stated he would kill a cat every day until his wife came home. Lee was taken to the Becker County Jail. The cats were taken to a safe location.

Timothy David Lee of Frazee/Detroit Lakes was sentenced in October 2020 for the animal cruelty incident involving a dead cat.


Sentence Details
