The probable cause statement said that the boy was not responsive and "may be incompatible with life."

The child's mother, Jordan Willis and John Manning, Wills' fiance face felony child abuse charges after a five-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries Thursday morning.

Officials with the Unified Police Department said the boy was brought to Primary Children's Hospital unconscious and not responsive.

A child abuse specialist also investigated the boy's injuries and said they had appeared to have occurred over a period of time, rather than during one incident. Officials also expressed concerns that the boy was malnourished.

Fuck reading that second story was harsh.

The kid is probably going to be a vegetable the rest of his life (if he survives) and the grandparents seem to be in denial about his chances. :(

He LOOKS malnourished. How could anyone ignore that? Beat the fuck out of both of them with an aluminum bat until it breaks

He definitely looks under nourished, no fat on his little chest.

I really hope these "parents" are made "incompatible with life" in the very near future.

Well grandparents had more of a responsibility than just calling child welfare! If that had been my daughter or son, I'd personally have beat THEIR ass. They had the boy. He TOLD them his mom's DOTM punched him in the face and broke his plastic bat over his back. They SAW the bruises. No way in hell I'd take him home. Bitch, come get me.

@Granmaw

I think it is hard to fault the grand parents because in many states gp's have no rights. They contacted CPS expecting that the child would be assessed and removed from the situation.

I am sure they are blaming themselves.
