A City of Tulsa Animal Control Officer reported a man wearing no shirt was chasing after her vehicle with a pick axe.
The animal control officer said she responded to a report of a dog hit by a car in the area and had loaded the deceased dog into the back of her truck when she encountered the suspect, later identified as Trey Basks.
She reported Basks, who claimed the dog was his, was angry and upset and chased her with a pick axe. He then threw the pick axe into a field and started making threats to shoot her, police said.
Police said Basks and a woman with him tried to open the crates in the back of the truck to get the deceased dog while the animal control officer was driving away. Basks threw the pick axe at the truck and hit the side of it.
Police said the animal control officer got away safely and officers arrested Basks shortly after the incident.
