The Bronx woman who allegedly kept her twin 14-year-old sons imprisoned for nearly a decade wanted her kids to stay babies forever — and even kept them in diapers, feeding them formula with bottles, sources revealed.
Lissette Soto Domenech, 64, hid her sons away from prying eyes in her Riverdale co-op building for years, inspiring hushed whispers among fellow residents who brought their concerns to the city’s Administration for Children’s Services multiple times, neighbors said.

ACS officials unsuccessful tried to enter the apartment several times, until Domenech finally opened the door on Oct. 15 – revealing an appallingly skinny teen who appeared to be 8 years old, law-enforcement sources said.
The revelation last October led to the two boys to be whisked away to Montefiore Children’s Hospital, where they remained in treatment for three months, prosecutors said. The boys weighed just 51 and 54 pounds — far below the median healthy weight for a 14-year-old of about 115 pounds, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

Domenech was arraigned Wednesday on a 13-count indictment charging her with child endangerment, assault and filing false information with New York City public schools.

She pleaded not guilty and is free on $25,000 cash bail awaiting trial.
“I believe she didn’t want them to grow up,” the neighbor said. “She wanted them to be babies forever. She wanted babies and that was it. She wanted them to stay babies forever and never lose them.”
Law-enforcement sources confirmed the neighbor’s suspicion, revealing investigators believe Domenech sequestered her twin boys from the world at an early age as she embarked on a sick quest to keep them in eternal youth.

The boys were kept in diapers, fed with bottles and hadn’t been to doctors in years, sources said. One boy is autistic, but never received care, prosecutors alleged.

Prosecutors said the apartment only had infant cereal, baby bottles and toddler toys, with no food or belongings appropriate for teens.
Domenech and the kids slowly disappeared from view in the building. Many neighbors said they knew children lived in the sixth-floor apartment, but few had actually seen them.

Meanwhile, Domenech’s husband — whose name reputedly was Yosef Green — could often be seen hauling bags of food up to the apartment.

“Once I asked him, ‘I haven’t seen your kids in a while. Are they still here?’ He said, ‘Yes, I homeschool them,” James said. “I said, ‘They never go out?’ and he said, ‘No.’”
Domenech had started filing documents with the city’s Department of Education in 2017 falsely claiming she was homeschooling the kids, prosecutors allege.

Neighbors described Green as a sweet man who hailed from Israel and sometimes spent hours in the building’s lobby talking in Hebrew on the phone. Some said he recently died from cancer after a slow decline.
Several anonymous tips eventually led to the fateful encounter at Domenech’s apartment that finally revealed the alleged abuse unfolding for nine harrowing years behind closed doors, prosecutors said.

“They took them away a couple of months ago because they looked like something out of a scary movie,” a first-floor resident said.

The twisted mom who allegedly tried to keep her teen boys “babies forever” had $0 in her bank account and was $300,000 in debt shortly before her Bronx house of horrors was discovered, court records show.
Lissette Soto Domenech, 64, lived in dire financial straits for years, filing for bankruptcy three times between 2023 and 2025, records show. Meanwhile, she was able to post $25,000 cash bail following her indictment on child abuse charges earlier this week.

The bankruptcy records paint a picture dovetailing with neighbors’ stories of Domenech’s life falling apart and isolating herself inside her sixth-floor Riverdale apartment that tragically became a prison for her twin boys.

“She was like a little witch,” said a neighbor who lived on Domenech’s floor. “If you go near her door, she’d close it.”
A neighbor who lived below Domenech said she used to hear the boys running and crying all night, along with their mother yelling. She eventually directly complained six years ago, forcing Domenech to open the door to talk — revealing two children who appeared much younger than their age.

“I thought they were babies. They looked very tiny and skinny, they were probably 8 years old at the time,” the downstairs neighbor said. “I thought they were younger. They were very pale. Most of us thought they were babies.”
The now-14-year-old boys are currently in foster care following three months in the hospital after an alleged nine years of abuse and a baby food-based starvation diet that left them weighing just over 50 pounds each, sources said.
How Domenech managed to pony up the five-figure bail — or even 10% of it, which is typically offered by the courts — was unclear as bankruptcy records show she repeatedly claimed to have no real income and substantial debts, largely from the side-by-side apartments she owned inside the Mosholu Avenue co-op building.
The trail of court records show Domenech filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2023, claiming less than $50,000 in credit card debt that she hoped to liquidate.

The case, however, was dismissed a few months later after she failed to provide a full list of creditors and effectively ghosted the court.

Domenech returned to bankruptcy court in 2024, this time filing for Chapter 13 plan that would allow her reorganize her finances.
Yet again, Domenech couldn’t meet the requirements and the case was dismissed after she failed to make payments, records show.

By June the next year, Domenech again sought Chapter 13 bankruptcy in a filing rife with details of household distress.
The Bronx mom claimed more than $300,000 in debts, $50 in cash and no money in her bank account, according to the filing.

She reported no income besides $3,345 a month from her unnamed spouse’s work as a delivery man for a deli and an Uber driver, including an unspecified monthly $650 “family support” payment he received.
