Three pieces of shit have been arrested after an 11-month-old was found with multiple injuries and drugs in his system.

Deputies explained that the child had severe mouth and eye infections, damaged neck ligaments, multiple back compression fractures and contusions on the torso, back, and head areas. They added that he also tested positive for fentanyl, cocaine and THC.

During a bond court hearing on Wednesday afternoon, the solicitor said the victim had to have a toe amputated and doctors found burns in his throat.

A female that gave birth to the child was identified as 27-year-old Hannah Cason and a male identified as 22-year-old Dalton Miller are charged with felony child abuse resulting in great bodily injury.

64-year-old Kathryn Cason, the child's grandmother was charged with misprision of a felony for failing to report the child abuse and initially misleading investigators.

The baby has placed into emergency protective custody with the South Carolina Department of Social Services.

Misprision of felony is a form of misprision, and an offence under the common law of England that is no longer active in many common law countries. Where it was or is active, it is classified as a misdemeanor. It consists of failing to report knowledge of a felony to the appropriate authorities.

A South Carolina man is headed to prison for abusing an 11-month-old child.

The Seventh Circuit Solicitor's Office said 23-year-old Dalton Lane Miller, of Spartanburg, pleaded guilty on Friday to felony child abuse (inflicting great bodily injury upon a child) and unlawful neglect of a child.

Circuit Court Judge J. Cordell Maddox Jr. sentenced Miller to 20 years in prison for felony child abuse and 10 years in prison for unlawful neglect of a child. The sentences shall be served consecutive to each other.

Officials say, in June 2024, Hannah Cason took her 11-month-old to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Her boyfriend of three months, Miller, drove the mother and child to the hospital.

According to court documents, the child was suffering from multiple bruises across his body and head, swollen eyes and lips, and a toe that was completely blackened.

Hospital staff noted the child was in significant pain and would not tolerate movement. Members of the Chesnee Police Department and Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office were called to the hospital.

When Cason spoke with law enforcement, she initially claimed she lived with her parents before ultimately admitting she lived with Miller in Chesnee. Cason later explained that Miller watched her child while she worked.

At the time, Miller was present at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, but he remained in the parking lot and refused to enter the building to speak with law enforcement.

The child’s examination at Spartanburg Regional showed that the child had a broken frenulum, infected eyes, compression fractures of his spine, whole body and genital bruising.

The 11-month-old also tested positive for cocaine, fentanyl, and THC.

The child was removed from Cason's care and was later transferred to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital in Greenville for further treatment.

At Prisma Children’s Hospital the doctors noted the numerous bruises on multiple planes of the child’s body which are rare considering the non-mobile nature of the 11-month-old. They included that the bruising was consistent with multiple inflicted blows to the child’s body.

Hospital staff reported that the child suffered from spinal fractures at the T11 and T12 vertebrae most likely due to traumatic compression. Inflammation of the eyes, lips, and throat were also found leading to suspicion of chemical injury. The child suffered from genital abrasions and bruising. The child received treatment which included the partial amputation of his blackened toe.

During the course of their investigation, law enforcement found text messages between Miller and a neighbor.

In the text messages, Miller shared photos of the child’s injuries and discussed being irritated that no one wished him a happy Father’s Day.

Authorities also found messages between Miller and Cason discussing the fabricated story about the child's injuries that they would tell to law enforcement. In the texts, Miller told Cason to delete the messages between them.

The little boy is in protective custody - hopefully part of the mom's sentence includes her surrendering her rights to the child and no one on her side of the family being granted custody of the boy.

The boy who turned one is reportedly being placed in a foster home that has pediatric nursing experience.

Which probably means he needs on-going care. Poor little guy never got to experience all that his life could have given him. I hope he heals and gets back to just being a child, playing in mud, climbing trees, chasing bugs, you know the little things that make being a little kid so wonderful.
