@Sugar Cookie, I know how you feel about baby Owen. Some years ago I had two house panthers and they were awesome cats. They both died of feline leukemia.
We have 3 gorgeous house panthers currently, all rescued in various ways.
Crowley was found by my bf at an auto parts store, he scooped him up and brought him home to me. He was like, "here you go, you said you wanted a black cat!"
He is super shy and reserved, but he's a gorgeous little man, and just as soft as can be. He was super loving when we first got him and he was really in need of the extra comfort and love as we got him back to a healthy state, but now he is pretty aloof. Prefers a quiet window to company, although we do often find him kind of on the outskirts of wherever we're hanging out. He doesn't want to be in the thick of things, but he does like to be near us.
Nyx (we call her Lil Bay Bay) was rescued along with her tuxedo sister from a bad situation with a relative. We were easily able to find a home for her sister, but no one wanted Bay. Eventually I said fuck it, we'll love her! This was our first real first-hand experience of how differently people treat solid black cats, and it's so sad. She has the stupidest meow lol and if you rub her on her back above her tail you can get her to talk back to you when you say her name. It's like of like an awkward MERRR.

She's probably the most panther-y of all my house panthers. Sleek and strong, with smooth solid musculature.
Pearlie was actually up for adoption in a local pet store, so she'd prooooobably have been OK without our intervention. However, I saw her, loved her, and convinced myself that the odds were too stacked against her to find a good loving home. We are deep in the bible belt... and she was an all black cat, missing a back leg and most of her tail, and also missing part of an ear. I was afraid no one would want to adopt her (being both a tripod, and black), as well as being an enigma in general (they knew she'd been attacked but had no idea what had actually happened, and were not sure how long it would take for her to adjust to the amputation or being able to trust and be around people in general).
She is feisty as can be, and she and my other tripod are always getting into it to establish who is the head bitch disabled cat, or whatever.
