The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 21-year-old Tampa man on four counts of aggravated child abuse. Deputies say he is responsible for a 4-week-old girl suffering multiple broken bones.

The investigation into Antonio Enrique Cordero's alleged illegal activities began around 10 p.m. Aug. 22 when the baby was brought to a local emergency room with a swollen foot and fever, an email from the sheriff’s office said.

“During a thorough medical exam, doctors discovered the infant's leg to be fractured, along with other multiple bone fractures to both legs, arm and two ribs in various stages of healing,” the email said.

Deputies say their investigation into the child’s injuries led them to Cordero, 21. They have not elaborated on the nature of his relationship with the infant. The agency, however, says “Cordero admitted to the offenses.”

- A 21-year-old Tampa man was arrested after a four-week-old baby was found with two broken legs and ribs.

Hillsborough County deputies say the baby girl was brought to the emergency room Tuesday night with a swollen foot, swollen ankle, and a fever.

Doctors say both legs were fractured several times, and her arm and two ribs were also fractured and in various stages of healing.

Deputies arrested and charged Antonio Cordero with four counts of aggravated child abuse.

Deputies say Cordero knew of the child and had regular contact with her and admitted to the offenses, but deputies did not specify his relationship with her.

Im his younger brother. He wouldnt hurt a fly and this case has been completely switched on him. Hes been wrongly accused for years and my family has been suffering from this traumatic experience of losing not only him, but my neices and nephew. That child was his. He wrote on the birth certificate to Love and care for the child as anyone should. He loved his family. Everyday it eats at me, my family has been torn apart since then. I've lost my other older brother due to other reasons but i dont think anyone of you understand how hard it is to tell your older brother that we lost one of us... Not only does he love me, the family, his kids, but he loves you all. If he were reading this he would understand that you all dont know the full picture. It's unfortunate how many people wish death and life behind bars to someone theyve never met, looked up to, or understand. Have a great day to anyone who reads this. This appears to be an effort to sell us on the idea that either someone else is the blame or there's others also guilty.

And no mention of the child as if it had nothing to do with your brothers' incarceration.

You get the vibe, unfortunately. but he has a new court date coming soon and hopefully everything with the main doctor from the movie "take care of maya" gets whats coming. Not saying she deserves to be locked up because id never wish that on someone, however consequences should be held. Don't delude yourself about the similarity on the Netflix documentary to your family's situation.

Two 30 year sentences for the abuse of a four week old based only on the linked article raises eyebrows. The length of sentencing suggests there was a lot more going on...
