"Trooper James T. Dierkes, 29, of Greenville was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and criminal sexual assault, according to the state police Division of Internal Investigation.
Police said they received a request for assistance Tuesday from Vandalia police, which was investigating allegations of sexual assault made against Dierkes. The incidents reportedly occurred in 2016 during Dierkes’ employment at the Vandalia Community High School, prior to his June 2018 employment with state police.
Agents interviewed a woman who said she and Dierkes had inappropriate sexual contact on multiple occasions during his employment at Vandalia Community High School. The investigation led to another woman, who said she also had inappropriate sexual contact with Dierkes on multiple occasions.
Dierkes was arrested Friday and immediately relieved of duty.
He is being held at the Fayette County. Bail was set at $1 million."
