A homeless man in Columbus, Georgia, is due in court Monday on charges he sexually assaulted a woman's remains during an alleged burglary in a funeral home.

Domonique Smith, 26, was arrested Monday after he was found with a bike reported stolen from a local funeral home, the Associated Press reports.

The suspect was found in a vacant home with other allegedly stolen items, like TVs and guns, according to the Daily Mail.

Smith was initially charged with second-degree burglary, entering an unoccupied dwelling, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property.

A necrophilia charge was added Thursday after authorities discovered that a woman's body at the Hill Watson Peoples Funeral Service had been disturbed during the alleged burglary.

"The investigation led us to believe he had a sexual act with the woman's body," Columbus Police Dept. Capt. Gordon Griswould told the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer.

The victim was not identified but Griswould told the paper her family has been notified about the allegations against Smith.

Despite the alleged crime, funeral director Cedric Hill said customers should not worry about the treatment of their deceased relatives.

"We look for the best protection and security for the families we have served in this community for 65 years," Hill said, according to the Metro.

Smith is currently in jail and due in court Monday to answer to the necrophilia charge.

Because robbing, stealing and terrorizing live people- at gun point, is much more preferable to having sex with dead ones. He's no crazier than you, but that's not saying much :rolleyes:

I didn't say it was better...my point was that the guy isn't much of a planner. I wouldn't be squatting in a vacant building if I had a gun. A fire arm is just like any other tool and I would be using it to my advantage. What a stupid guy.

I'd think a smart person would get a job and work for it like the rest of the world does. Having a gun doesn't give you carte blanche to be lazy and do as you please. It definitely doesn't make you any smarter than him by picking that option ;)

The article isn't about a smart person...its about a squatter with a grossly underused fire arm that likes to fuck dead people at least once. Good thing he isn't forward thinking or there would be nothing for us to read here or for you to run your mouth about. More...I would never be squatter...I have vagina...its a tool. And I would have myself a hotel room and swish chalet just like that. Police responded to Hills Watson Peoples Funeral Service after receiving a call that the facility had been broken into. Police would identify Smith on surveillance video in the building at the time of the burglary.

Initially, the only thing amiss was the disappearance of a bicycle. But things got a lot creepier when it was determined that the corpse of a woman at the funeral home had been disturbed.

“The results of our investigation and the forensic examination gave us probable cause to believe that this individual had indeed sexually assaulted a dead body,” said Columbus Police Maj. Gil Slouchick.

Smith, who is homeless on top of being a corpse fucker, was located inside an abandoned building with the bicycle from the funeral home, stolen TVs and firearms.

He has been arrested and pleaded guilty to burglary, entering an unoccupied dwelling, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property. He is currently in jail and held on $20,000 bond. If he is convicted on the charge of necrophilia he stands to spend between 1-10 years on prison.

Sex-crazed homeless man breaks into funeral home

In Columbus, Georgia, a homeless man identified as Domonique Smith, 26, broke into the Hill Watson Peoples Funeral Service. Not only did he steal a bike worth $150 from the business, but he also decided to perform a sickening act.

While investigators were processing the scene of the burglary, they found evidence that Smith committed a sexual act with the body of a deceased woman. Captain Gordon Griswould of the Columbus Police Department stated that he could not remember the last time anyone was charged with necrophilia in Muscogee County, Georgia. According to the police, the crime occurred this past week between Sunday night and early Monday morning. Smith was identified through security camera video and was arrested by noon on Monday. He was living in an abandoned home and police found stolen property on the premises, including multiple TVs and guns tied to a previous burglary.

For now, Smith sits in the Muscogee County Jail facing numerous charges, which include one count each of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, theft by receiving stolen property and entering an unoccupied dwelling. Smith pleaded not guilty to the charge of entering an unoccupied dwelling. However, he did admit to the judge the other aspects of his crimes. Smith is being held on $20,000 bond and has pending charges in Superior Court.
