MCDOWELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — McDowell County deputies said a woman faces charges after a domestic incident that reportedly involved a large sword and an attempt to set a porch on fire.

Lisa Louise Turpin, 40, of Avondale is accused of trying to set a neighbor’s porch on fire, according to a news release from the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said the victim was flown by helicopter to Pikeville, Ky., for medical treatment. No condition was immediately available.

Deputies responded about 6 p.m. Monday to the Mile Branch area in Iaeger for the domestic dispute.
