Cops are claiming a Long Island mother of a 1-year-old boy fabricated an outrageous kidnapping tale to conceal an injury he received while in her care.

Jeymi Guerra Cordova had informed police that a strange man leaped in front of her son’s stroller and grabbed the child as they were walking on Jan. 15, reported WPIX.

Cordova stated she struggled with the aggressor, who then callously tossed her infant son to the pavement before fleeing, according to the initial police report.

But after cops began poking holes in her tall tale during a second interview, police said Cordova finally broke down and admitted the story was pure fiction. She claimed he was unrestrained in his stroller when he fell out and hit the sidewalk.

The boy apparently suffered scrapes to his face and a large contusion to his forehead. She has been arrested and faces charges of making a punishable false statement.

What was the point of all this? The truth is always the better option to go with.
I've known a few people who were pathological liars... they would lie for absolutely no reason, even when telling the truth would be to their advantage. They'd "rather climb a tree to tell a lie than tell the truth standing on the ground," as the old saying goes.
