A woman allegedly poured hot sauce in the mouth of her 8-year-old stepson and also punched and kicked him, causing bruising on his body at a home in York, according to charging documents.
Haydee Corredor, 29, faces charges of endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and harassment.
In an interview on May 8, the boy gave investigators details on several occasions where Corredor allegedly assaulted him, documents state.
"(The boy) reported that Corredor put hot sauce in his mouth and it makes his throat and stomach hurt," documents state. "(He) reports that Corredor has 'whooped" him in the past. In April of this year 2019, Haydee slapped him in the face, punched him in the jaw, and kicked him in the legs."
On April 8, the boy reported to school with bruising on his face, legs, chest and back. He was taken to York Hospital for a forensic exam, documents state.
York City Police interviewed Corredor on May 23.
"Corredor did advise she struck (the boy) on top of the head twice with a closed fist," according to documents.
