Why was Devarion Gross found dead in a bin in the closet?

A jury has found a Garner mother guilty of first degree murder for the death of her 19-month-old son and for concealing his body.

Sherita McNeil has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing 19-month-old Devarion Gross in November 2008 and then hiding his body in a plastic tub.

The defense said McNeil was too scared to call for help because she had admitted to others she'd abused him before and was afraid people would think she killed him. So, she admittedly hid his body.

"I really don't, I really don't want any more kids," McNeil said in a phone conversation. "All I want is her, that's it."

McNeil was escorted from courtroom Thursday and taken to the Wake County Jail.
