Dwight Bainbridge‘s home was searched after evidence in relation to an accusation mad by a 16yr. Deputies said she told them she was molested and sexually battered by Bainbridge.
Bainbridge lived at the home with his daughter and girlfriend, Jessica Brambilla, along with her 20-year-old son William Land, and four other children.
The detectives found a room with a padlock on it. When the room was opened a bed with little bedding and a bucket filled with piss and a malnourished child.
Both Bainbridge and Brambilla kept the child confide to the room. They also limited the child’s diet and refused her access to the online home school classes.

The other kids were probably threatened with the same fate, or worse, if they squealed. Depending on the ages of the various kids involved, some of them may not even have known she was there. Given the 16 year old's experience, it's more than possible the others had suffered abuse too.

A man accused of keeping a girl locked away in a room for a year in Sarasota was captured Friday.

Dwight Bainbridge was charged with lewd or lascivious molestation, aggravated child abuse and sexual battery of a minor.

Bainbridge and his girlfriend, Jessica Brambilla, are accused of keeping a girl locked in a room in their home for a year. According to an arrest affidavit for Brambilla, a padlock was put on the bedroom door. The affidavit says the girl was given a bucket to use as a toilet and was only allowed to eat twice a day.

Detectives say the girl was only allowed to bathe once a week. She was described in the arrest report as malnourished, pale and dirty.

Brambilla was arrested in September for aggravated child abuse. At the time of her arrest, detectives said Bainbridge was still on the run. The 43-year-old was listed as a fugitive and added to Sarasota County’s most wanted list on Sept. 27.
