Taneshia Gearing, 29, was arrested by officers from the Chattanooga Police Department on Friday after a warrant was issued for her arrest on charges of domestic assault and vandalism. S
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by local ABC affiliate WTVC, the charges stem from an alleged incident in June 2024 involving Gearing and her former boyfriend, who told police that Gearing beat him and pulled him out of his wheelchair.
According to the affidavit, Chattanooga police responded to a call placed on June 25, 2024, by the unnamed man who said that Gearing, his ex-girlfriend, broke into his home by kicking through a locked door. After screaming at him, Gearing allegedly ransacked his apartment while he attempted to escape by getting out of his wheelchair and working his way down a flight of stairs. Gearing allegedly followed the man out and continued attacking him.

The man told police that Gearing threw a phone at his face, leaving a cut under his eye. She also tore his shirt off and beat him with her fists before she fled the scene.
When police arrived, the man refused medical assistance. Officers also offered him assistance from a domestic violence advocate, but he turned them down.
