A 26-year-old is facing rape and molestation charges, accused of recording himself sexually abusing an infant and uploading the videos on a social media app.
Vancouver Police said the infant involved in the case was taken to a local hospital for immediate medical attention. The baby is now in protective custody.
Officials said Homeland Security agents contacted Vancouver Police on Wednesday about a tip from the “Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force.”
The tip said someone on the online gaming chat app “Discord” uploaded video detailing the sexual assault of an infant.
“These graphic child sexual abuse videos had never before been seen by National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which is a strong indicator that the abuse was recent and likely being conducted by the person uploading the content,” Vancouver Police said.
They identified the person uploading the content as Stephen Rian Price, 26, of Vancouver.
Detectives searched his home at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, and the infant was immediately taken to an area hospital, police said.
Price was booked into the Clark County Jail on five counts of rape of a child, one count of first-degree child molestation, three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, four counts of first-degree possession of child pornography, and three counts of first-degree distribution of child pornography.
While investigating the case, detectives found evidence “of the rape and production of child pornography involving a second infant.”
Investigators said they believe there are likely more victims who have yet to be identified or located.
