Victoria Slama, 45, was arrested May 4 after a witness told police they heard a child yelling out the window of the Del Ray Plaza apartments.

The boy cried out, saying his mother was beating him and throwing him against a wall, according to an arrest affidavit. Neighbors also reported hearing pounding and shouting coming from inside the apartment.
When a York police officer arrived, they heard a child crying. According to court documents, Slama told officers she had been struggling with the child while trying to get him ready for bed and claimed he had thrown toys at her.
However, the child alleged that Slama had tried to strangle him with a blanket.

The officer also noted an overwhelming odor of cat feces and urine inside the apartment, including the child’s bedroom. Cat feces was found scattered about the boy’s room, court records show.
The child has since been removed from the home.

BUT, you don't even have to try with a cat, if you keep the litter box, just even sorta clean, the cat will use it and not the bed, floor, couch. And nothing stinks quite like cat pee and poop.

I don't like litter boxes and since I don't live somewhere I can let the cat go outside, I don't have a cat. It's best for me and the cat. But then again, I'm a responsible person and would care about my cat and my children.

Victoria Slama, 45, has been sentenced to three years of probation and sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 30 days already served. She was also sentenced to two 30-day stints in jail, in the future, which can be waived by the court if she is found to be in compliance with the terms of her probation.
This case began when York Police officers responded to a call reporting how a child was yelling from an apartment window, starting his mother, who is Slama, was “beating him and throwing him against the wall,” according to court documents. “It was further reported how screaming could be heard through the wall and pounding on the walls was also heard by neighbors.
“Officers arrived at the apartment at 9:08 p.m., upon walking up they could hear a child crying,” according to the police officer’s affidavit filed with the court.” The officer said he knocked on the door of the residence and Slama answered it saying, “be my guest and take him,” according to the court documents. “A minor child was on the stairs and Slama said she had been fighting with the child to go to bed. She further explained she was tired and ‘you are more than welcome to take him with you.’ The minor child said Slama was trying to strangle him out. Slama neither confirmed nor denied these claims.”
The officer’s affidavit says there was extensive cat urine and feces in the apartment.
The minor child, according to court documents, told the officer Slama “had strangled him with a blanket/sheet from his bedroom. I observed red marks on both sides of the child’s neck consistent with this claim and a string on the right side of the child’s neck. When speaking with Slama she stated the red marks were from using her body to block the child from escaping his room by pinning the child against the doorframe and walls with her body. She stated the claim of strangulation stemmed from the child whipping her with the sheet located in the bedroom. She claimed the sheet could have been wrapped around the child in this struggle.
“The child made claims Slama made him eat soap. Slama stated she gave him a bottle of water and there may have been soap in the bottle but she did not check it. The bottle was located in the litter box in the child’s bedroom.”
In January, Slama was sentenced to probation in a separate case where she was found guilty of hitting a child in the chest with a closed fist, in the sternum area.
