On Friday, October 30, 2015, a judge in a Platte County courtroom, sentenced pedophile, Darren Paden 52, to life in prison for his decade long sexual abuse of a now 18 year old young woman. The abuse began before she even turned 5 years old.
Now, we can't judge a whole town by their worst specimen but Paden's neighbors in the tiny community proved that it isn't just Paden who is awful there. It seems Paden has a town full of supporters, people that have flat-out said that they do NOT believe the victim. Some have gone as far as to call the victim a liar.
Taking sides in any criminal case isn't unusual. Family of the victim is pitted against the family of the defendant, same with friends. But this is a whole town. And a case that really has no gray area, Paden has admitted to what he did, he has plead guilty.
Seems Paden, prior to being caught was a volunteer firefighter, family man, father of seven and active in his church and civic activities. And in Dearborn, that's all enough to erase raping a child for 10 years, as long as you have a dinger-pager and go to church on Sundays, they'll let you slide on raping children, it's okay with them.
Letters of support for the rapist poured into the judges office before Paden's sentencing. Letters filled with glowing references to his service in the National Guard, selflessness as a volunteer firefighter, and holiness as a junior deacon for his church.
Friends touted his morals and how he "holds fast" to them. Even calling him an admirable man.

A church trustee wrote in his letter that "only God, Darren and the victim" really know what happened. And how he believes that Darren only admitted to the acts after hours and hours of relentless interrogation, all because of the pressure and not because he actually did any of it.
Gee, all his is missing is the lines about how only God can judge and the first without sin casting the first stone. Hey, maybe they'll Google his sick-ass and come here and tell us that. We can only hope.
Friends also begged the judge to have mercy on Darren, to give him probation or the lightest sentence possible. The used how much he has "suffered" through the two years it has taken to get fom accusation to sentencing as their justification for begging for mercy. Saying how hard it has been on him to not be able to support his family, having to be kept away from his young children. Well, thank God for small favors there, at least he couldn't rape his own children in those two years.

Now, for the full horror of what this "good" and "admirable" family man did.
Starting when the girl was under the age of 5, he raped her, molested her, fondled her, sexually abused her, forced her to perform acts on him, and forced her to watch pornography with him.
He did this for at least a decade. For at least 10 years of this now young woman's life she was raped by Tubby McPervertpants. All while he reminded her to keep "their little secret" to herself. Once or twice a month for 10 long, unending years.
But wait, Darren wasn't done, seems child rape is a family affair for the Paden family. Darren had his precious son, Anthony, join in on the rapes. Anthony, now 25, is currently awaiting trial on his charges regarding the sexual abuse of the victim.
Paden himself estimates that through the years he sexually abused the victim somewhere between 200 and 300 times.
All of this, he admitted to under questioning by his own attorney in court. Paden himself said, under oath, the the victim "was, in fact, truthful".
But that hasn't been enough for the residents and supports of the rapist.
In her statement to the court, the victim has told about her depression, suicidal thoughts, and self-harming. She recounted the agonizing flashbacks that dominate her mind, the nightmares that wake her from a slumber.
She told about being refused rental houses because of who she was, what she had done to Paden. How she can walk through her tiny hometown and have people shun her entirely, refuse to speak to her, even refuse to look at her. All because a pedophile couldn't keep his filthy hands to himself and his pathetic pecker in his pants.
The prosecutor in the case has spoken of how troubled he is by the community's reaction to the victim. He speaks of how quickly Paden confessed to the horrors he inflicted upon the victim. The following quote sums up his feelings perfectly:
"If it takes a village to raise a child, what is a child to do when the village turns its back and supports a confessed child molester?"
Excellent question. And the victim here has the perfect answer.
This young woman has stood up, told the truth and stopped this monster from hurting another child. She has shown strength and courage far beyond her years and has shown a maturity in the face of astounding adversity that her "neighbors" could learn from.
And the judge, hear her loud and clear.
Judge Van Amburg sentenced Paden to 50 years in prison for the 2 counts of first degree statutory rape that he plead guilty to. 52 year old Paden sentenced to 50 years, a life sentence just put in numbers instead of the word.
The people that count in that retarded community believe the victim- the DA, the judge and the police. The rest of that ass backwards town needs to start packing for Hell where they can join Paden for a campfire and a rousing sing-along of Kumbaya or something.

"Our community is one that we deeply believe in God and we're not going to buckle under anything. We're not going to let it destroy all of us. We're going to keep doing our good works and doing what we believe and rely on each other."
