A convicted child molester was reportedly beaten to death by his cellmate this week.

Paul Dixon, 43, has been charged with second degree murder for killing David Oseas Ramirez, 56.

Officials said it happened at the Duval County Detention Facility.

According to court documents, he was serving life in jail for lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under 12 years old.

Dixon was serving a life sentence for first degree murder.

The inmate killed inside his Duval County Jail cell Tuesday was drowned in his jail cell toilet in addition to being beaten by his cellmate, First Coast News learned Wednesday.

Paul Dixon, 43, was charged with 2nd-degree murder after police say he killed cellmate David Oseas Ramirez, 56, on the fifth floor of the Duval County jail.
