Authorities in Ohio say the body of a 4-month-old boy has been found in a well and his parents have been arrested on charges including kidnapping and abduction.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini said in a news release that Dylan Groves was found Wednesday in a well about 30 feet deep in Otway. No cause of death has been released.

Donini said Dylan was removed from his parents’ custody when he was born with drugs in his system but later returned to his father.

Donini said the father, 41-year-old Daniel Groves, started missing court dates and doctor appointments for the child and he and 39-year-old Jessica Groves were arrested Monday at their Otway residence.

Both Daniel Groves, 41, and Jessica Groves, 39, waived their preliminary hearings. That means their cases will be presented to a grand jury. The jury will decide if there is enough probable cause to indict the couple.

They are currently facing kidnapping and abduction charges in connection with the baby's disappearance. Investigators say more charges will be filed.

Detectives found the body of 6-month-old Dylan Groves inside a well in Otway Wednesday evening. According to deputies with the Scioto County Sheriff's Office, the well appeared to be about 30 feet deep.

Investigators believe the baby has been dead since late March. His body was sent to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office for an autopsy.

A crowd lit candles at Faith Baptist Church in Wheelersburg, the home church of Andrea Bowling, who was Dylan's foster mom.

"He loved being swaddled and held close," Bowling said.

She says she only had Dylan for 12 days shortly after he was born in January with drugs in his system. She says after those 12 days, he was returned to his parents.

"He was just so precious and adorable," Bowling, who teaches in Minford, said. "I took thousands of pictures of him in the short time I had him."

She'd been hoping she'd eventually get Dylan back. She believes the system failed him horribly.

"There need to be changes made for this system that we have," Bowling said. "This should've never happened. I want Dylan's life to have that purpose and that meaning to stop this from ever happening again."

Family members say they are heartbroken after the body of 6-month-old Dylan Groves was found in a well Wednesday in the Otway area.

The baby’s parents, Jessica and Daniel, are now facing charges with his disappearance.

A relative told WSAZ the family was not ready to do any on camera interviews but said she hopes there is justice for Dylan. She added most of the family never even got to meet him, and they hadn’t been close to Daniel and Jessica for some time.

She says many of them found out that Dylan’s body had been found through a WSAZ newscast.

Investigators say Dylan was born addicted to drugs, and spent the first months of his life under the care of Scioto County Children’s Services until Daniel met the requirements for family reunification. SCCS declines a comment Thursday saying they are not able to until the investigation is over.

If the baby was under DCF care for the first 2 months of his life and the foster mother only had him for 12 days where was he the other 6 weeks?

And if dad started missing dr appts, home visits, and court appointments right after he was returned why wasn’t the baby removed immediately?

Jessica Groves, the mother of the four-month-old baby who was found in a well in Scioto County, Ohio in June, was deemed competent to stand trial on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Jessica has also withdrawn her plea of “not guilty by reason of insanity” and entered into a just a “not guilty” plea.

It has yet to be determined if Jessica and David Groves will be tried together or separate. The final pre-trial date is set for the end of September with the jury trial scheduled to begin mid-October.

The four-month-old was in custody of Children Services after being born with drugs in his system but was returned to his biological father after being found compliant with all regulations set by Scioto County Children’s Service.

A DEAD baby found at the bottom of a 30ft well was badly-beaten, had drugs in his system and was padlocked inside milk crates.

A coroner's report has revealed details of four-month-old Dylan Groves' harrowing death after his body was discovered in June.

His body was found in a well in Otway, Ohio, with fractures to the skull, left leg and left arm, according to the coroner's report.

Dylan had been wrapped in a blanket and plastic bags secured with duct tape and put inside two milk crates.

The crates were bound together by a chain with padlocks, zip-ties and metal wires.

It was then weighed down with rocks and an iron weight that acted as an anchor.

A toxicology report found that there was methamphetamine and amphetamine in Dylan's liver.

His cause of death was listed as "homicidal violence" of an undetermined cause.

Search not working so sorry if this is a dupe.

this baby had no chance in life.
What these parents did was horrific.
4 months old, severely beaten, padlocked in milk crates, weighed down with rocks and an iron anchor before being tossed down a well....
Sick.

Not sure why it’s merged either

Trial is scheduled to begin Monday for a couple charged in the death of their months-old son, whose body was found in a well not far from their southern Ohio home.

Jessica and Daniel Groves, of Otway, pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and other charges. Their son, Dylan, was found dead in June, about six months after his birth.

Authorities haven't disclosed a cause of death. They say Dylan initially was removed from his parents' custody when he was born with drugs in his system but was later returned to his father.

I hope they know the cause of death so that these two can't claim they found him dead and panicked.

This little Pud always breaks my heart. He went from love to being neglected and abused.
They know his skull was fractured along with other bones. And. Had drugs in his system.

He was born addicted to drugs. Maybe he was in the hospital.

It's day three in the trial for Jessica and Daniel Groves.

On Tuesday, a defense attorney for Jessica Groves said she was solely responsible for Dylan's murder, but Daniel Groves did help dispose of the infant's body and suggested putting him in the well

Wednesday, witnesses included a doctor who delivered baby Dylan and a children's services case worker.

The doctor said Jessica Groves was impaired during delivery while the Child Protective Services worker testified that the couple was hard to get in touch with and they were taking steps to get Dylan back into their custody.

So HER defense attorney said the following in court:
My client, Jessica Groves, was and still is a drug addict. There is no doubt about that fact. She and she alone caused the injuries to Dylan Groves which led to his death. She murdered Dylan Groves," attorney Shawn Stratton said during opening statements on Tuesday.

Wow. That's sure a change from the usual defense strategy and position.

An Ohio jury has convicted a couple of multiple charges in the death of their infant son whose body was found in a well.

Jessica Groves, 39, was sentenced Friday to life in prison with no chance of parole in the death of 2-month-old Dylan Groves. A jury deliberated for several hours Friday afternoon before finding her guilty of aggravated murder, abuse of a corpse and other charges.

The child’s father, Daniel Groves, 41, was convicted of murder, abuse of a corpse and other charges but was acquitted of aggravated murder. A judge sentence him to life in prison with parole eligibility in 47 years.

Daniel Groves testified during cross-examination Friday that his wife aggressively picked up Dylan from his crib in late March. He said he saw her hit the child in the head multiple times. A coroner testified at trial that Dylan suffered skull fractures, broken ribs, a broken arm and a broken shin bone.

Scioto County Children Services took formal custody of Dylan after he tested positive for methamphetamine at birth in January 2019 and was then placed with his father. Jessica Groves, a former licensed practical nurse, was allowed to visit the family’s home but was not permitted to live there.

Dylan was killed in late March during a visit, Jessica Groves testified. The infant’s body was not found until June. That’s when Daniel Groves told authorities that he and his wife had placed the body in a makeshift coffin and left it in a well in a field.

I hope the older brother is okay.

He lost his brothers and now his parents are going to be locked up.

The parents killed one child and damaged another - so damn sad.

At the 24 minute mark this worthless bitch starts crying. The judge told this bitch she has not shown any remorse.

At the 6:05 mark the female prosecutor got in that ass
