RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn.- Rutherford County Schools has internally charged a teacher and stripped him of his coaching duties after a classroom video surfaced. The concerned parent who sent FOX 17 News the video says multiple people have complained about the Eagleville High School teacher's touching.
A parent of the student in the video tells FOX 17 News the teacher was consoling her through a family death. The school system identified the teacher in the video as Travis Holland. He teaches history and coaches baseball.
FOX 17 News tried to contact Holland without success.
The school system sent the following statement to FOX 17 News on Wednesday.
"Travis Holland, a world history teacher and baseball coach at Eagleville School, will receive a 10-day unpaid suspension, reassignment to a smaller school, removal of all coaching duties and be required to complete counseling through Rutherford County’s Employee Assistance Program.
