A teacher is accused of sexually assaulting her foster child.

Kimberly Race, 42, of Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, is charged with statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors.

The investigation began on June 27 when police received a report of a teen boy who had been sexually assaulted.

Police later determined Race sexually assaulted the teen numerous times at her home between July and August of 2018 when the victim was 15, according to investigators. Race was the teen’s foster mother at the time, investigators said.

The broad probably always wanted some on the side but never have the nerve to go out and get it but bring in a possible penis into her home that's not related to her and she's all up on that stuff. Almost qualifies as a new category pedo of opportunity.

A Catasauqua Area School District teacher pleaded guilty Monday to sexually assaulting a teenager.

Kimberly Race pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault, according to court records.

Race was accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old multiple times at her home in July and August 2018, authorities said. The investigation began in June when the district attorney's office received a report of the alleged assaults.

The victim had been a student in one of her classes several years prior to the alleged assaults, authorities said, but there are no allegations of abuse while he was her student.

Race was suspended from her position with the school district when the allegations surfaced.

Kimberly Race was sentenced to 12 to 24 months in state prison after the 43-year-old pleaded guilty to a single felony count of statutory sexual assault. She will be supervised following her release.

Race was not deemed a sexually violent predator but will be subjected to lifetime registration under Megan’s Law.

Race told the court that she was ashamed and embarrassed by her actions and apologized for every life that she affected.

“As the adult, I knew that I was wrong,” she said.

In recounting the details of the case, the judge noted that Race had sex with the boy and sent him sexually explicit photos, which Race noted was done at the victim’s request.

“But this person was a minor and you’re an adult,” Reichley replied.

Before handing down his sentence, the judge lamented the fact that young men are treated differently for some reason in sex assault cases. He noted that a pre-sentencing investigation found it couldn’t be ruled out that Race could pose a danger to other children.

And the judge said he was concerned about statements Race made, calling them “twisted.”

“You sent him, frankly, pornography,” Reichley said.

The prosecution and defense agreed on a recommendation for a county jail term, But the judge said he had no doubt that had Race been a man sending a girl explicit photos, a state prison sentence would have been in order.

He ultimately ordered a state prison sentence and ordered no contact or future employment that involves children. Race had been released on unsecured bail and has not served any prison time.

The victim and his parents were in the courtroom for the proceeding. The victim did not address Race directly, instead having the prosecutor read a statement.

The victim wrote that he’s suffered sleepless nights and emotional stress at the hands of Race. The stress only got worse when news of the assaults became public, he said.

“I feel like I was forced to grow up a lot faster than most teens from this,” he said, calling Race “mentally sick.”

The prosecution also read a statement from the boy’s mother, who said Race had everyone fooled and blasted her for the deep psychological damage she did to her son.

“Kim is a sick woman who preys on children,” the victim’s mother wrote.

The victim’s father testified in court that his son will need therapy until he can have something of a normal life.

“Kim has stolen my son’s teenage years and opportunity to have a normal life,” he said.
