A 32 year old man is being prosecuted for raping a 3 year old girl. The attack was revealed after her mother discovered that young girl had a suspected sexually transmitted disease.
Doctors confirmed that was the case and police were involved. During testing, it was found that the suspect has the same disease and same bacterial strain that the 3 year old girl had been infected with.
The suspect is a
citizen of Eritrea and became registered in Sweden in 2010. During police interrogation he needed an Arabic translator even though he has been in the country for 10 years.
He is suspected of having raped the young girl in January or February this year in a home in the city of Sollentuna just outside of Stockholm. The man is denying all crimes.
The prosecutor
says the crime should be considered as serious, as the man, taking into consideration the girls young age and the fact that he is known to the girl, “showed special ruthlessness and roughness”.
