State Trooper Matt Makowski shot in his home as son, 11, detained on attempted murder charge

Indiana State Police Trooper Matt Makowski, 46, was at home in Granger on Thursday night when he was shot shortly after 11 p.m., according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office.

He suffered a single gunshot wound and was taken to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery. He is in stable condition, according to the prosecutor's office.

Makowski's son remains in custody at the Juvenile Justice Center. Authorities would not release the son's name, age or whether he is the suspected shooter.

Most of the time when someone, be it an adult or a child, commits a horrifying and shocking act of violence, there is no explanation or understandable motive for it. People are just born bad most of the time.

The South Bend Tribune and WSBT-TV report that investigators say in court records that the boy used his father's service weapon to shoot him once in the buttocks last month. They say the boy got the gun from the trooper's locked police vehicle outside their home in Granger, near South Bend.
St. Joseph County prosecutors have filed a petition alleging delinquency for attempted murder, which is the juvenile equivalent of a criminal charge. The trooper, who was off-duty when he was shot, was hospitalized afterward and his condition has improved since then.

I totally agree, however the medical professionals will deem him autistic because it is the catch-all diagnosis for violent, defiant children ..

He is a psychopath but doctors wont call him that, until he reaches adulthood, his diagnosis will be autistic ..
