"The son of an Australian police chief inspector and his American girlfriend were killed during a trip to Canada and then dumped along the Alaska Highway, authorities said Friday.

Officers with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on Monday found Lucas Fowler and Chynna Deese dead on the side of the road, just south of Liard River Hot Springs in British Columbia, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. Both deaths were immediately ruled suspicious."

Authorities believe they were murdered after their van broke down on the Alaska Highway, 20km south of Liard Hot Springs.

Their van broke down.

The injuries inflicted were so “brutal”, Ms Deese’s heartbroken brother, British Deese, said the family was told an open casket would not be allowed at her funeral.

Their bodies were found in a secluded area almost 1900km, or 21 hours’ drive, north of Vancouver.

“But our understanding is that they were with a vehicle in the northern part of British Columbia, and it appears they may have been shot in that location,” he told reporters.

It appears robbery may have been the motive with the couple’s identification missing.

Mr Deese said investigators eventually found his sister’s passport hidden in the van.

Going on a road trip across remote parts of Canada in a piece of shit van unarmed is not the brightest idea. Between the animals, people, and weather the odds are against you if something goes wrong. Unfortuantely travelers in their early 20s lack alot of common sense.

a lot on this senseless case, their van had broken down and they had pulled it to the side. The last they were seen alive was by couple that stopped to see if they needed help and they said they would be okay and were eating lunch. Then today at a rest stop near there police were with fire crew to put out a truck on fire without a passenger that was found dead a bit away by another individual at rest stop. obviously the to case are connected but how and why? people that were driving on that stretch of hwy 75 especially with car dash cams are s=asked to contact police immediately whether they saw anything or not.

Interesting about the third body.

Was someone just in the mood to start serial killing, or was this third body the culprit behind it all and wanted to lash out prior to suicide?

Very odd. Did he park the truck, light fire, and then hike to a rest stop to kill himself? Makes more sense if the vehicle was stolen and dumped by side of the road. But that begs the question of why the killer who choose to steal it in the first place, just to dump/burn it later, and why killer would choose to just walk along a highway when he could be driving.

Weird shit. Perhaps the most interesting active/recent story on the site.

And Canadians committing murder? SOOOO bizarre

Two teens have been reported missing in British Columbia — and a man’s dead body was found just over a mile from their burning truck — stirring “growing concerns” in a region where only days earlier, a young couple was found murdered on the side of a road, according to new reports.

By Sunday, authorities announced that they were looking for Kam McLeod, 19, and Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, who were inside the truck and have been reported missing, the outlet reported.

A bearded mystery man spotted having a “heated exchange” with the young couple found murdered in British Columbia last week could help investigators crack the case, according to a new report.

Road worker Alandra Hull told 9News AustraliaMonday that she spotted Fowler and Deese on the highway the night before their bodies were discovered — talking to a bearded man who “kind of looked frustrated or something.”
The man, who got out of his grey car, was standing in the middle of the highway as Fowler and Deese stood beside their van, Hull told the outlet.

wow, thi just keeps getting weirder and weirder Canadian links that maybe have a bit more than the nyp, they are both healthy sized boys but that won't stop a gun, since they seem to be from the yukon think they might have pretty good survival skills. this will enhance earlier US report on them maybe this nutter attacked them too and set their truck ablaze and they capped him then got scared :

this has most the same with the added why they were traveling annnd last time talked to parents [before truck fire]

The cat filter activated during a press conference regarding a double murder.

Canadian police are setting the record straight after the cat filter activated during a press conference regarding a double murder.

Looks like my work here is done ..

So the burned truck belonged to 2 missing teenagers.

WHat are the odds the dead man found near it was NOT someone responsible for stealing the truck/killing teens?

We have 3 dead bodies, 2 missing teens, a burned out truck belonging to missing teens. And there are reports of an angry bearded man arguing with the murdered couple. Was the 3rd dead body found near the truck a bearded man i wonder?

A suspect wanted for the murder of an elderly Texas man crossed into Canada only weeks before a young couple was found murdered there — and a police official said that “multiple sources” have spoken of a potential link, according to a new report.
Derek Whisenand, 27, crossed into Canada sometime during the week of June 24, 7 News Australia reported.
About three weeks later, Chynna Deese, 24, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and her beau, Lucas Robertson Fowler, 23, of Sydney, Australia, were shot dead on the side of a remote highway in British Columbia, 12 miles south of Lilard Hot Springs, a popular tourist destination.

Now they're saying that the two teens are responsible for the other three murders... :jawdrop:

UPDATE: Police have named two teenagers as persons of interest in the deaths of three people found on northern B.C. highways.

WTF?!

The fear is, they'll head into Alberta and continue on their killing spree across Canada until they're caught ..

Thankfully, Edmonton is 4 hours away from the B.C. border ..
One of the recent articles I read, not entirely sure if it is posted here, said that they were last seen in northern Saskatchewan. They passed right through Alberta apparently. ;)

BIzarre the killers woudl burn their own car. Did they think this would keep authorities from suspecting they are the culprits, perhaps get them fingered as victims instead? Or did they commit one of the crimes in that vehicle and were trying to burn the evidence?

Curious how theyre getting around now. IT would make sense if they stole this still unnamed old male victims ride, perhaps that's the reason for his murder even. Odd authorities still have no ID on him.

well slap me senseless, it ws playing in the back of my head but didn't believe it, damn,
maybe one of their moms or family picked something up or get a call from one of them 7 contacted the mounties
Post automatically merged:

there's a Texan they received a tip about from multiple people that could be connected to the slayings, he's wanted for murder down there
