FORT PIERCE — Danielle Gargano repeatedly told deputies she had nothing — not one thing — in her female private parts.
Even when deputies at the St. Lucie County Jail told Gargano, 32, on Aug. 10 that if she had drugs or weapons on her that bringing them in the jail would result in a charge of smuggling contraband into a detention center, she remained steadfast in her denial, an affidavit states.
Gargano had been brought to the jail by Fort Pierce police who were called to an address in the 1900 block of Hartman Road after a vehicle ran off the road and into a ditch.
The driver, identified as Gargano, was found to have a suspended license and taken to jail.
At the jail she was asked whether she had weapons or drugs, and whether she may be pregnant.
Gargano said she had nothing on her, though may be pregnant.
Investigators reported the last time Gargano came into jail, she had three rocks of crack cocaine in her vagina, an area not typically associated with rocks of crack cocaine.
Investigators placed Gargano on a body scanner, which indicated “something” was in her vagina.
Gargano again denied having anything in her lady bits.
A nurse also couldn’t make heads or tails of what was in Gargano’s private parts.
When investigators began working on paperwork for a “cavity search,” Gargano disclosed she had something in her vagina.
Deputies say she extracted “a half crack pipe with a whitish/yellowish rock located in the tip of the pipe,” the affidavit states.
With the apparent mystery solved, investigators tested the rock and reported it tested positive for cocaine.
It’s unclear why Gargano had the crack pipe in her private parts.
More common places to carry small objects, such as drug pipes and crack cocaine, include purses and pockets.
