"The Mandan Police Department issued a three-sentence news release confirming that officers had found "several people who were deceased inside" the business in the city of about 22,000 just across the Missouri River west of Bismarck. Police did not say how many people were dead and did not immediately respond to a request for more details.

The state Bureau of Criminal Investigation said it was helping with the investigation but did not offer any details.

Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier confirmed that the business was RJR Maintenance and Management, a property management company where police and sheriff's vehicles were clustered. The Bismarck Tribune reported that the business released a statement at 9:30 a.m. saying it was closed Monday. "

RJR's website identified it as a family-owned company that has been handling commercial and residential properties in Bismarck and Mandan for more than 20 years. Its services include collecting rent for landlords, paying mortgages, re-renting apartments, building and grounds maintenance, lawn care, and snow removal. It also rents out storage units.

From @crys_xoxo's link.

I see loads of different reasons there are dead people there. Family, Client, Customer or even something completely different.

I checked the RJR Maintenance and Management google reviews, of course a new one was posted just after this hit the news:

Great bunch of guys that did awesome work. My only complaint was that they left several decaying bodies behind in my basement that I had to then dispose of.

But humor aside, I looked at a few of the newest reviews and it looks like their customer service wasn't that good (make sure you see the third one, its long and has 2 owner responses):

They are so unprofessional and are so rude. It's almost like they are bothered by you trying to rent from them. They don't want to schedule anything that is convenient for you, and refuse to co-operate if you request to do something at a different date, a showing, moving in, etc. They told us we could move in right after Christmas, then soon after we paid the deposit they tell us we can't move in until the 2nd of the New Year. Such a sloppily run place.

Worst experience I have ever had with any rental agency, I lived there for only 2 months and all of my things stayed packed. My home was a mess , I never got to move in and here’s why. We toured the place 3 weeks before moving in. We were in love but! The carpet downstairs was terrible, I asked if they planned on fixing it they said they’d have to talk to ppl before they could say for sure but they ensured me that if “ it needed to be replaced, it would be” i said ok , we couldn’t see the place until move in and when we asked about if the carpet had been fixed we got the full run around, and on the move in day our fears were realized I posted the photos of the oxidized tack strips and a few reperesentaions of how terribly done the carpet was, above. ((If they post them )) I cant figure out how to put the photos on this post there were mouse dropping in 3 areas.. the downstairs bathroom and bar aswell as the upstairs kitchen. It took 3 weeks to get someone there to stretch the carpets in my sons room. I also contacted them about a stain on the celing of the downstairs bathroom which was a concern from the beginning aswell I asked if they had done a mold check I was assured they had. With the carpets fixed 3 days later I had to call about mice, it took 2 more weeks to get the specialists in there to bring sticky traps.. meanwhile my newborn son at this point had been exposed to Disease ridden rodents for weeks ... he could have contracted roto virus or haunta virus, and here is rjr taking their sweet time with getting someone over there. They caught one mouse and we caught another a week later at this point I was fed up but I thought the worst was behind us, I washed all of my sons things for the billionth time (trying to protect him from the unfit environment.) And hoped for the best one day after my fiancé was showering I heard noises dowstairs... thinking it was potentially another mouse in a trap potentially flapping around I walked dowstairs... the ring on the celing was not “old and taken care of” like stated it was a continuous leak , forming mold in my sons celing and the bathroom celing...and the paint was falling off of our soaking wet celing. Which was bowing under the weight of the leak it damaged a lot of my bathroom essentials with thick layers of paint ((which I couldn’t get out)) and was never compensated for. I called maintenance immediately.. they came and poked a small 1 in. By 1 in hole to let the moisture dissipate.. I asked if he brought a fan he said no... Incase you are unaware wet drywall plus moist dark semi warm environments=mold two days later a guy came and cut a much larger hole and put a fan ((that stated spacifically)) “do not place on back fire hazard” he placed it on its back and told me to “let it run” until they came back 3 days later I told them I was breaking lease and moving. That i couldn’t take the stress nymore and I was over it. They said they would allow me to break lease if I had to they offered other options but I need to be close to downtown because I walk to work.. which none of their options were ..I found a new place and was out except for some full garbage bags that wouldn’t fit in the garbage due to it being full. I was there on time to checkout and saw the rjr girl in her car I went inside to meet her and she drove off.. I guess she had already knocked? I called them and they said to meet them the next day I said ok. I was not only charged 105 dollars for not giving me my keys that day but they kept my entire deposit.. plus, they are saying I owe them an additional 550 dollars. which I don’t have. they offered me “payment plans” a few days before Hendricks’ first Christmas .... gee thanks . I’m literally only here to warn you against renting from these terrible people.. it pains me to write a review like this but this company treated my family like garbage and then had the audacity to charge us after these incidences. Their people raised their voices to me and when I responded in the same if not worse I was told to “ calm down and don’t curse” abs. nightmare.

Kaylynn,
It is a shame you did not enjoy your home. The previous and new resident of this home have never had anything but awesome things to say about this unit. There are guidelines and rules we must follow and that you as a resident must follow as well. We do have all documentation of your entire experience with us! All work orders were addressed and completed in a timely manner, the ceiling was a weekend after hours call and you still had a technician come and address the issue same day. The timely manner of a couple of your work orders were due to technicians unable to maneuver around your personal items. We did use vendors for your pest services and they also stated the cleanliness of your home would play a factor in these issues. We did let you out of your lease as a good will gesture but did explain your deposit would be forfeited. (Refer to the NDAA Lease term 14. We should of held you accountable for the entirety of your lease) The way you have treated our office is unacceptable and calling employees some of the most foul names will not be tolerated in our office. We do have over 15 pictures of your unit at move out if you'd like those forwarded to you for your reference. The money owed to us is justified (You also let an employee know that you "Understand why you are being charged, but thought since you were renting all maintenance was to be done by us) All general maintenance is our responsibility and was completed and not charged. Excessive damage, cleaning, repairs would be your responsibility. There was a lot of cleaning to do due to (what presumes) smoke film on walls. We did find the smoke detectors covered with rags held by tacks.
Let us know if you'd like the pictures of your move out forwarded over to you.
We hope your next experience with renting is a more responsible and
enjoyable one!

UPDATE:
Kaylynn,
after a phone call just made to our office, we feel this is getting to be harassment and are formally in writing asking you to no longer contact us directly. Please reach out to our attorney's office with any further questions or concerns.

I would not be surprised if today's stack of bodies was due to a dissatisfied customer.

"Four people were found dead Monday in what police called a "multiple homicide" at a North Dakota property-management business.

Three men and a woman were found dead inside RJR Maintenance and Management in Mandan, a city of about 22,000 just across the Missouri River west of Bismarck, Police Chief Jason Ziegler said. The victims weren't immediately identified and police didn't say how they died."

"Chad Isaak, 44, from Washburn, North Dakota, is being held on four counts of AA felony murder, Mandan Police said at a news conference late Thursday. He is being held at the McClean County Jail. "

"Isaak's car was identified at the scene of the shooting by surveillance cameras, officials said. Investigators later located the vehicle in Washburn.

The suspect was arrested during a traffic stop Thursday, police said.

Evidence in the vehicle gave investigators enough probable cause to make an arrest, according to Police Chief Jason Ziegler.

The location where the suspect lived was a mobile home park managed by RJR, but police are not sure if that is part of the motive, Ziegler said. "

Mobile Home Park. Let that sink in for a second. Mobile Home Park. That has motive written all over it. If they never released a motive, I would never doubt Mobile Home Park had everything to do with it.

What a surprise, he was a dipshit quack. Chiropractors are fucking morons, as are the people who go to them.

THere's some beautiful, well maintained trailer parks in this country. It can be a tremendous and very economical way to live, either as a longterm home or often as a perfect short term option as one saves up for a more traditional , overpriced house.

A man convicted of killing four people in what authorities say was one of the most gruesome crimes in North Dakota history was sentenced Tuesday to multiple life prison terms without the possibility of parole.

South Central District Judge David Reich sentenced Chad Isaak, 47, to consecutive life terms for each of his four murder convictions. One of Isaak's lawyers had asked Reich to allow for the possibility of parole.
Isaak, wearing a blue mask, stood still and stared straight ahead as the judge delivered his verdicts. Before learning his fate, Isaak briefly addressed the court, saying, “I can honestly tell you I’m not a murderer, and that’s all I have to say.”

A jury in August found Isaak guilty of killing RJR Maintenance and Management co-owner Robert Fakler, 52; and employees Adam Fuehrer, 42; Bill Cobb, 50; and his wife, Lois Cobb, 45.

The four were shot and stabbed on April 1, 2019, inside the property management company’s building in Mandan, a city of about 20,000 people across the Missouri River from Bismarck. Investigators said the victims were stabbed more than 100 times, total.

Before Reich sentenced Isaak, family members of the victims were allowed to address the court.

Robert Fakler's wife, Jackie Fakler, called Isaak “a coward” who didn't give the victims a chance to flee or fight.

“You have made me hate,” she said.

Jackie Fakler also read victim impact statements from the Cobb family, who couldn't make the hearing because of bad weather.

Jamie Binstock, a daughter of Robert and Jackie Fakler, told the court that Isaak is a “heinous individual” who should spend the rest of his life in prison and experience a “lifetime of suffering” and nightmares.

“I do not want your life to end. Your family does not need to suffer the same way we did,” Binstock said.

North Dakota doesn’t have the death penalty.

The jury deliberated for more than four hours at the end of the nearly three-week trial before it convicted Isaak of murder, burglary, unlawful entry into a vehicle, and a misdemeanor count of unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Isaak, a chiropractor and Navy veteran, lived at a Washburn property that the company managed, but authorities never established a motive for the killings.

It was one of the most heinous crimes in North Dakota history, defense attorney Bruce Quick acknowledged during his opening statement. But he maintained that investigators didn’t seriously consider other possible suspects, including people who had either been evicted, sued or fired by RJR.

A North Dakota man who was serving four life sentences for murdering four people died in custody over the weekend.
Chad Trolon Isaak, 48, died on the evening of Sunday, July 31, 2022, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP).
