Pawsitive Update: Seriously Beaten Puppy Found Bleeding In Pennsylvania

Authorities said they are looking for the man responsible for brutally beating a puppy to near death in Pennsylvania.

Police said a 911 caller told police that a tall black man wearing a red shirt was "beating a dog to death."

When authorities arrived, they report that they found a 6 or 8 month old German Shepherd -- or possibly German Shepherd mix -- seriously hurt, bleeding, and unconscious.

The man who assaulted the dog was gone from the scene by the time crews arrived.

The puppy was sent away for emergency veterinary treatment.

It’s a happy ending to a story that captured the hearts of so many.

Chance the German Shepherd was adopted by one of the York City police officers who found him nearly beaten to death on August 23.

The dog suffered multiple fractures and was extremely malnourished.

“Seeing how a terrible human being could just beat a poor, four or five-month-old little animal, leave him there to die, unconscious, lying on the ground, it’s just something that strikes a chord with you," said Officer Matthew Tamanosky of the York City Police Department.

Officer Tamanosky and his girlfriend, Sabrina Knotts, came to the York County SPCA on Monday afternoon to take Chance home.

They're both dog lovers and Chance will be their first.

“I just want to give him a good home and a nice easygoing life that he deserved from the start," said Officer Tamanosky.

Over the last several weeks, Chance has recovered remarkably, building his strength and regaining his personality.

It looks like his jaw was dislocated/broken, so thats why they were spoon feeding him baby food.

Animals are so resilient, Im so happy hes happy and healthy, but a little angry the guy got away with it.
